Hi and welcome to FixYa!

This is usually caused by a faulty MAF (mass air flow) sensor or TPS (throttle position sensor). Have it checked and replaced if necessary to resolve the problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

faulty injectors or faulty injector control
loss of power is fuel problems ( pump or injectors )

98 v6 triton engine miss fires runs rough between idle and about 2500 rpm could this be coil packs or air flow meter any help would be good

Could be many things but I would scan the vehicle for codes which may hint to the problem. Some store like autozone will do a free scan if the light is on.

2002 nissan 2753cc 6cyl firing order.

Carb.basic setting.
On the Carb to Intake manifold there is an AIR/FUEL volume control screw. Gently screw it in Clockwise until it bottoms out, then back it out 2 turns.
Next, find the Throttle Butterfly Fast/ Slow idling screw, and back it out until the Throttle linkage is released.
Then slowly wind it back in 2 turns
If you have SPARK and FUEL up, then it should Fire Up.
When it does, using the Air/Fuel screw to stabilise the idle mixture, adjust the Idling Speed Screw to run balanced at around 750 RPM.
Happiness!!!
All the best and Regards, DT

Service engine soon is on and the truck idles low when cranked.

Take the vehicle to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve the fault code(s) stored in the computer. Most stores offer this service at no charge. The codes will help identify the problem. Sounds like a faulty Idle Air Control (IAC) valve to me, but the codes will narrow the reason down. Hope this helped and best wishes.
