I replace the threads with a steel insert kit which is much stronger than heli coil, I have also used heli coil and never had a problem, I have repaired this problem many times if the re threading and insert are installed "properly" it shouldn't recurr.. if the same hole has been stripped several times the head definitely will need replaced. If they remove one head, make sure they remove both of them and replace both gaskets while in there, these engines are prone to head gasket failure

do you fix cars? My 2003 has no pressure in the #2 and the engine is shaking real hard and only started when the check engine light came on. Checkers gave me the generic code #2 misfire and I changed the Injector the 2 spark plug and coil and problem didnt fix so a mechanic did a compression test and said there was no compression. I dont have $1200 to fix this and my mechanic is MIA! any suggestions?

I call this known problem "popping rocker arms"! I've had it happen twice on my Grand Am 3.4L. Luckily, no head damage occurred. Repaired both times via heavy duty type helicoil method.

My 2003 Pontiac Grandam will shut down while I'm driving and it has to do with the security system

The security system is called Passlock. And yes it will turn off the fuel injectors when it starts to fail. Go check out this link, should help inform you about how the system works along with some ways to get around it.

If u change one head in a pontiac grandam 2003 do u have to change the other if its not failing??

No, not at all. However if the head was removed because the gasket was bad, or the engine overheated, it is a good idea to remove both heads, inspect them and replace both gaskets.

How do I change a piston rod on a pontiac grandam? Can I gfo through the bottom if I remove the oil pan, or do I need to go through the top?

You can't go through the bottom because the crankshaft will be in your way as well as the balance shaft assembly. The pan and balance shafts need to be removed in any case so you can disconnect the rod from the crankshaft. But, the cylinder head needs off come off to get the piston out.
Big job and generally you are better off replacing the engine.
I know it's a tough decision but I actually scrapped a 2000 last year that was in otherwise perfect condition rather than be bothered with the aggrivation of doing that job!!! And, I do this for a living!!!

How much will it cost to fix tie rod on 98 grand prix gt

At our shop, about 25-30 bucks for the part, 20 Bucks to install, and 50 bucks for a 4 wheel alignment.. so roughly 100 bucks.. But keep in mine different shops have different labor rates.. Id replace both tie rods if it were me to get my money's worth outta the alignment.. Thanks.. ( ps) get ur own parts as most shops mark up the price
