I am experiencing the same thing and it is not the fuel pump and filter. I know because I replaced them and still have the problem.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

What kind of fuel are you using? Mixture of different kind of fuel or refilling fuel on a different station that's exposed to moisture can result to hard starting. I strongly suggest that you fill fuel only with the one you trust most.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Have a 2002 dodge stratus with a 6 cyl 2.7L engine. Was running fine then all of a sudden became hard to start. Switched the windshield wiper relay with the fuel pump relay. Started fine for one day then...

I would buy a fuel pump relay for that particular car. If that relay that you switched with the wiper relay isn't the same exact one then the fuel pump will not work properly. Make sure the right relay is in there. Could also be a clogged fuel filter.

2006 cobalt hard to start after fueling it up, must push on the accelerator pedal to get it started, then must put at high idle for few seconds or the car stalls when put in gear. check engine light is on.

Very likly your over filling the car with fuel. You shold only fill the car till it stops the fuel handle the firstr tim after that you may be filling the evaprotive fuel system with raw gas the engine is pulling this fuel thight the vacume system and it stumbles on this extra fuel till it burns it all. If in doubt shut off the fuel pump early as your wasting the extra fuel your putting in anyway.

Engine hard start sometimes spcially after long travil

probably not that. it is more than likely the cold water temp sensor. this puts more fuel to the engine when cold and acts like a choke.
