Turn signals work intermittally, if you hold them and don't click all the way, you can usually get them to work. would this be a short or would this normally require replacing parts?

Sometimes the housing the bulb is in has gone bad try cleaning out the prongs where the bulb goes in it that does not work replace the fixture the bulb goes in had the some thing happen to my trailblazer hope this helps
Fast clicking is caused by a higher than normal current being applied. Normally a short or a aftermarket relay that requires less current to switch. Sounds like the entire multifunction switch is bad.
1) Verify that the front and rear passenger turn signal light bulbs aren't burned out.
2) Check for a short circuit in the wires at the signal lights. This can happen if you have a leak around the light and moisture gets inside. A strong indicator that this is the problem is if the signal acts up right after a rain, but works fine after several days of dry weather.
Sounds like maybe a bad turn signal switch. If the brake and turn signal use the same bulb than the turn signal switch will interrupt the brake signal and supply a turn signal to the bulb. Usually you can wiggle the switch while holding the brake pedal down and get them to intermittently work. If that happens than for sure the switch has failed.
If the flasher ("blinker can") was bad, It would be rare that it would work intermittantly. We rarely change the fashers, they are pretty reliable. My suggestion to you is to check your turn signal switch. If the signals are not flashing, cycle the switch back to center & left/right; hold it in the "on position".... Do the lights the start to work? if so, replace the turn signal switch.
The easiest possible solution to both of your problems would be to replace the signal/flasher relay in the fuse box- usually under $15.00. This should resolve the problem if it doesn't I advise having a mechanic trace down the short which mah lie in a circuit board.
Hope this helps you all.
