Sounds like bad spark plugs or bad spark plug wires it also can be caused by a bad fuel filter.

Mine does the same thing. Actl like it's going to stall, the Service Engine Soon light starts flashing, then it surges forward and accelerates like nothing's wrong. Changed plugs, wires, coil packs, and fuel filter. Nothing helped. Just ordered an oxygen sensor; hope it solves the problem. Otherwise, I don't know what to do except take it to a dealer repair shop and pay $95/hr labor plus parts for them to diagnose the problem and fix it.

There is one other thing that could cause those symptoms. Along with coil packs you have whats called an ignition control module it actually controls the spark to the plugs. The best way to test that is to take the vehicle to autozone. They will put a scanner on the cars computer and will tell what code is in the computer . Find that out from them, message me back and we can go from there. By the way I am located in DE if that makes it easier for you.

2000 chevy metro leaks transmission fluid

Yea! A Metro owner. Welcome. Well, you have such a big, burly wrap-around engine in there, it's gonna be hard to see, just kidding.
So, it's an automatic, I presume? There aren't that many places for them to leak, fortunately. The obvious places are the pan gasket for the bottom pan on the transmission/transaxle case, the two cooling lines coming out of the case and going to front of car to a fluid cooler either mounted in front of the radiator or in the radiator assembly itself, and the two drive axe seals. There is a hidden seal on the front mainshaft, but if it is leaking, fluid would come out on the lower plate between the transaxle and the rear of engine. The plate may be or have an inspection cover to remove, but the fluid would be dripping out the very bottom there and fluid would be present inside the inspection cover.
That should cover the main leak prone areas. Sometimes a dipstick tube's O-ring may fail and oil seeps out around the tube.
Good luck with the metro. Once you find the leak, it should be pretty apparent how to fix it. Installing driveaxle seals would be hardest, or most involved.

My 2000 chevy blazer starts to putter and sounds like its running out of gas before it cuts off.i thing its some sort of valve that needs replacing....

you should have the fuel pressure tested to make sure there isn`t a problem with the fuel pump after it has been running awhile as sometimes a pump will slow down or quit when it gets hot or the volume drops off even with good fuel pressure so both need to be checked at the same time.

Starting problem with my 98' chevy metro

Use a carb-cleaner spray on the choke assembly, and give it a good work-out to free any sticking linkage.

If this doesn't get it, replace the auto-choke valve...when's the last time you changed the air filter?
Think about it when you're shopping.

*To test: When you park with a hot engine, pop the hood and flap the choke open about halfway and try a restart.

Having problems with 2002 Chevy Silverado staying running. Acts like it isn't getting gas all the time. It cut out going down the hiway picked up again then cut out died and wouldn't start back. Had it...

It's hard to figure out whats going on with out any codes. Im thinking maybe the fuel pump. To check it after it stops and doe'snt start squirt some starting fluid into the carb and see if it wants to start. If it trys to start then it's a fuel problem.

My 2000 Neon goes fine for a while then cuts out, misses, and sometimes dies at high or low speeds. I'm going broke having mechanics try out "fixes".

Any trouble codes from it,check engine light? Have the fuel pressure checked. It may read good when first started but after fuel pump heats up from running for a while, fuel pressure may start to drop too low for proper operation. Does it seem to take longer to cut out or act up when fuel in tank is closer to full, then empty?
