It could be a bad solenoid. or a neutral safety switch. id check on the solenoid first.

My 2005 suzuki aeiro wont start.battery is good . wont turn over

what transmission,?
this can be 3 things, if it wont jump and batter is good.
bad connections at battery or starter.
1: bad starter.
2: bad (A/T shift switch) or bad M/T clutch switch.
3 bad ignition switch.
4: bad wire or connections end to and start system.

hot wire the starter solenoid, if car starts (cranks) then its 2 o 3.

97 mercury grand marquis wont start after warming up

You need to determine if it is fuel related or spark related. I have seen everything from a pick up screen in the tank to a crankshaft position sensor. Check the fuel pressure when the no start condition occurs, check for spark at the coils. Does all your electrical equipment in the car loose memory?

I have a 96 cobra when i turn the key everything comes on but it wont turn over

first of all have the battery tested, but its probably a bad starter. test for power at the starter, if 12volts on both positive wires when in crank mode wiring is ok.have someone knock on the starter with a hammer while the key is held in crank mode, if car starts replace the starter. if not attempt to turn the crankshaft by using a socket and breaker bar, on the bolt that holds the crank pully on. if unable to move crankshaft replace the engine

I think my starter has gone bad in my 96 ford mustang gt. how do i know for sure?

If you can get the car running go to Autozone or Oreillys for a Starter Draw test. This test will show how much juice it takes to turn the starter. They have specifications for what a new Starter should do.

If you can not get the car running you would be taking the Starter off anyway. The Autoparts store can check it off the car too.

Try placing the gear selector in nuetral. The park switch might be bad.

1966 Mustang 289 V8 auto 2b new battery and solenoid-won't crank

Check the battery terminals. If they have become corroded you could be getting a bad connection. When the starter is engaged it creates such a power load at the connections that it will arc and loose power. Or, you could have a bad ground wire off the battery. Also check the positive cable leading down to the starter. Most of the mustangs had the battery cable leading to the starter between the engine and the exhaust manifold. Eventually they melt through and can cause a short. This would require replacing the cable. Good luck.
