You should have the battery checked first. If the battery is low then the starter will only make a clicking sound. You could also try jumping it ans see if it will start.Auto Zone will check both of these for free.Hope this helps.Good luck.Hope this helps.Good luck.

It may not be the starter it may just be a bad battery or a loose battery cable. Let me know the results and we can go from there sometimes its the simplest solutions.

No power to diagnostic port or fuel or ignition or starter pulse 03 vibe any ideas

All these have different fuses, except a main fuse that supplies power to the different fuses. Check those first. Check power from the battery to the fuse panel. Could be a bad fuse panel. If you check voltage with a volt meter, does it show any voltage at the fuses? If 0, then look to the wires first. If they show varying voltage(like2,3,4.5,or 6) suspect the fuse panel. The voltage should be 0 or battery voltage.

I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe (91,000 miles) that wouldn't start when I went out to go to run my next errand... just clicking sound when I turned the key. Just put a new serpentine belt on and everything...

Sounds like your battery might be low, A repeated clicking will indicate low battery, a single click would suggest really low battery or possibly starter motor bad.

Won't start.

you can jump the starter, there is 2 wires going to the starter, one thick and one thin one, disconnect the thin one and connect a wire on the starter where the thin wire was, and connect a separate wire to the positive terminal on the battery (make sure not to let the wire touch the body of the car as this will short out the battery, put the car in neutral (if manual) or park (if automatic) and use the emergency brake, remove the key from the ignition ,touch the wire you connected to the starter to the one from the positive terminal, if the engine cranks the starter is ok,

2003 Vibe long slow crank before starting

This sounds like a weak battery, poor conections to battery or a weak or worn out starter, clean battery terminals first , wear safety glasses, then charge up the battery, have the battery checked at an auto parts store.
