Question about Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

Our '98 Town & Country was going down the road and shut off while coasting. We read the engine codes to find out it was saying "P0400" for an Insufficient EGR Flow. So we replaced the EGR valve. Replacing the EGR valve did nothing to fix the issue. We've found out now that there's no fuel pressure in the fuel rail that supplies the injectors, and would like to know how we can test to see if it is a fault with the fuel pump or filter. Also, when the key is turned, we never hear the fuel pump prime the pressure. We'd just like some way to confirm something before we go replacing yet another part. After all, guessing is not a good way to fix the problem.

Check the fuses to make sure its not a blown fuse before you get into it. While the van is in park have someone listen down by the gas tank and turn the key but do not crank the engine if no noise is heard the next course of action is to drop the gas tank and test the fuel pump manually using a battery or jump box. If you still cant get the pump to work replace the pump problem solved.

2003 Chrysler Town & Country CODE P1698

My wife has a 97 town and country. For about 2 weeks the instrument panel
was going out then coming back on. A couple days ago it got bad. The van would start and run only several seconds then the engine would shut down.
I took the Instrument panel out and it started and stayed running. I pulled the
PC board found the bad Soder connections and resodered them. Problem
was gone and the P1698 code erased. Best thing is it did not cost me anything and the van is fixed !

I have a 1996 chrysler town & country that hesitate sometimes when the accelerater is being applied where it's from a stand still or going down the road can anyone help me with this?

Hello
The engine in this cars drive train is fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM. Whenever a problem like the computer stores a record of the problem in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a specail tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s)

Engine code reads "700". What part is that?

i think that it is a code in the tcm otherwise transmission problem such as speed sen or input out sensors for trans or just to tell you to check transmission codes for this your scanner cant read you might have to go to dealer to read trans codes

HAve a 2003 Chry. Town & Country, 124K. The

Try output sensor for the transmission (it is similar to a vehicle speed sensor), these can control the speedo and shifting. Not sure if it does anything to the rpm guage, but very possible.
