Those adapters are readily available through car audio shops, or places like Best Buy.

Most auto stereo shops have the adapters. You should also be able to find them online. They adapt the existing wiring plug in the vehicle to the stereo without cutting anything.

Trying to install an after market stereo on my 2000 town and country i get no sound

Did the AM stereo come with a wiring harness or adapter to match up with your T&C OEM stereo? If so, look for loose or poorly mated connectors. If not, double-check that the wire splices you installed are secure. Are you using the T&C's original speakers, or did you install aftermarket speakers, as well?

Installed an aftermarket pioneer stereo in my 2005 Montana. I bought the recommended installation kit, antenna adapter, and wire harness kit. Stereo will not power up. What do I need to do? Please help...

There always the possibility that your Pioneer stereo was DOA but I recommend going back over your installation checking especially for functional matching of the adapter wires. The colors may differ

How do I install a kenwood indash stereo?

The easiest way is to buy an adapter kit and wire adapter. They make these after market and its nice if anyone wants to go back to the original style when the kenwood quits.

How can i replace the manufacture radio in my car and replace it with aftermarket car stereo

You best bet, because of a warranty, is to have a professional shop install your stereo. But if you are like all of us guru's here, you like to get your hands dirty.

First you need to remove the dash around your factory stereo. Be patient here and try not to break any of the dash. You may need to remove screws and pop loose plastic retainers located on the backside of the dash.

Wire the after market stereo to the harness located below by maching the colors provided. Thank the stereo companies for making this simple. Use crimp connectors or solder your connections, which ever best suits you. Tape up any remaining wires with eectrical to minimize the chance of a short.

Take the metal sleeve provided by the sereo you choose and install it into the install kit located below. Once you have removed the factory stereo, test fit the install kit and attach any tabs neccessary provided by the kit.

Now take the aftermarket stereo and place into the sleeve you installe din the install kit until it clicks into its locks. Now, the harness you wired up earlier, plug it into the factory harness and then into you stereo. Hook up the antenna, you may need to purchase a antenna adapter. Now before you install the stereo, do a test run to make sure everything is working. Once you are content that it is all working, install the new stereo and then reverse the steps in removing the dash panel and stereo.

Want To Install New Stereo

You need to remove the front face on the dashboard...either you can "feel" your way through this, or you can get a basic manual like haynes that contains instructions. Most radios have accessory packages available that consist of an adapter harness and face plate which will make the job go a bit easier.R&R instructiona are not complicated but too long to write out.
Good luck!

Installing after market stereo

Dave,

You will need to go buy a wiring harness adapter from your local Walmart (usually cheapest there) or Local Electronics place (ie Best Buy). The wire harness that goes out from the radio goes into the Adapter and the adapter plugs into the car harnesses. Also these Adapters come with the wiring diagrams for your vehicle. They typically run 10 - 15 bucks depending on where you get them. Thanks for using FixYa!

Sincerely,

JC
