Question about 1995 Dodge Ram

1 Answer

My 1999 Dodge Ram 1500's a/c works great, till the truck temp gets warmed up ( approx 20 mins). The a/c clutch is disengaged when there is no a/c. Have purged and recharged the system. After the p/u cools down the a/c will work for a while, then just quits.

It's your heater core, these are known to give out in the 2nd generation Rams. You will have to get a new one installed.

After warm up ,1999 DOHC Taurus shuts down no start till 15-20 min cool down, then starts and runs till warm up again,no lights on ??? Help

More likely its a temperature fault with a water temp or incoming air temp telling the ecu there's a problem. See if you can find an engine diagram of the various sensors and get an auto elect or good DIYer to help. Try "images" on google or bing for a diagram.

I have a dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi and lots of noise is comming from the fan after about 15-20 minutes of driving what could it be?

if it has a thermal clutch fan then then the clutch needs replaced. the thermal clutch fan firms up after it reaches a certain temp allowing the fan to spin with the motor, when its cooler, it spins freely. sounds like when it warms up, and is on firm, that the shaft bearings are wore, therefore it probably is vibrating making that noise.

is there a CEL? on the newer cars like this they have o2 sensors that send a signal to the computer that tells it to richen the fuel mixture until it gets to a certain temp these sensors also help the computer maintain a stoichmetric A/F ratio of 14.7. this acts like a choke on old cars. there are also other sensors that pertain to this. if you can try to get it on a diagnostic to pin point what sensor is not functioning correctly.

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 club cab. I have had my a/c recharged but it is only blowing barely cold air. It used to shut down when I accelerated and blow hot air before. I don't have that problem anymore except barely cold air. Any solutions?

well if i remember correctly that fan clutch is reverse threads so in other words to loosen it you'll have to turn your wrench clockwise. they do this cuz the rotation of the fan will tighten itself onto the water pump. anyway what i do is leave the serpentine belt on the the pulleys and that will kinda hold them steady whilst you put the "special" wrench on the clutch and pop it loose you'll prolly need a cheater bar to make things easier but not too much or you'll overcome the traction of the belt and it will just slip.
