Ever 3 or4 miles i get a clunky grinding sound in my rearend of my truck

Check for:

* Loose, damaged or worn universal joint on the driveshaft

* An issue with the differential such as worn gears and/or fluid loss

* Check both axle bearings for wear or damage (If you have a bad axle bearing, you will usually hear it when you turn)

* Worn or damaged rear suspension component like a sway bar or stabilizer rod (if equipped)

How do I remove the whole rear and on a 98 tahoe?

While the vehicle is on a flat surface, block the front wheels front and back, jack the rearend of the vehicle up and place jack stands under the rearend, remove the drive shaft first the remove the square shaped u- bolts that hold the rearend to the leafsprings unhook the brake lines and emergency cable and installation is just the opposite jack the vehicle up high enough to pull out the rearend

Electric Golf cart only shutters and inches forward

so many possibilities...

does it roll fairly freely? (checking to see if the brakes or rearend seized up)

Are there any "bad" sounds like things grinding? (Connection between Motor and rearend, axle splines...)

If all that is solid, it is likely in the controller.... (it takes a solid charge right... No bad batteries in there or loose connection? might want to check all the battery connections to make sure none are burnt...)

1997.. does it have the electonic speed control by that year? the other possibilty is that the accelerator is not working corectly. they used a resistor system on old ones that has contactors that would get worn out.... Newer ones control a potentiometer(sp) that controlled the speed.

Only a few real components to check, but if you are not mechanically and electically inclined, could be tough to isolate.

peace,

1)Feel a jerking in rearend when I take off

Suggestions to check for item #1:

Check Universal joints in the driveshaft using the following procedure:

Park on a flat, level surface. Leave the vehicle in neutral, engage the parking brake, and chock at least one front and one rear wheel, so that the vehicle can not move.

Under the vehicle, grab hold of the driveshaft and rotate it back and forth, checking the U joints for abnormal motion. You should not be able to move it more than approx 1/16th turn in either direction. Excessive U-joint movement will be obvious. Yoke flange movement will not be as obvious, but is still noticeable.

If there is any up/down/side-side movement in the shaft, there are worn components that will need to be replaced.

If no worn components are detected in the drive shaft and associated components, check/replace your diff fluid as necessary. Metal shavings in the fluid may be indicative of an accelerated wear condition, and loose gears will be evident by excessive rotational movement of the driveshaft while not under load.

**** in power train or rearend

Most likely getting a little wear on the rear pinion, and you are experiencing the backlash from the gears. Put the vehicle in neutral (off) with the parking brake on and twist your drive shaft back and forth. There should be minimal play. If there is a bunch, you have a rearend rebuild in your near future.

Will 95 jeep gc rearend work in 97?

As long as they are the same rearend and the same gears, yes. ie a 9.25 rear with 3.92 gears will not work where a Dana 44 with 3.55 gears was.
