I am having trouble with a fusible link. there is a distrubution block with several fusible links attached. I have repaired these as needed.
there were two fusible links near the top of the battery. one WAS connected. it was hanging off the top, it led back to the distribution block.
the second was connected to the acc wire off the battery cable.
this one get VERY hot after i start the engine. when it breaks the connection, the car wont start, but the starter still operates.
I suspect that the entire load for the interior ecm is being fed through this thin link.

- When replacing fusible links, the wire must be cut after the large black plastic/rubber. (where the fusible wire has ended and the hard wire begins). Don't forget to buy suitable wire connectors, yes its that important!
cutting and joining old and a new fusible links could cause weird connection problems.
I have since replaced most of the old fusible link that was dry rotted or spliced incorrectly.
