The idle being low most likely wouldnt set off the light, it has to be whatever is making the engine idle low, such as vacuum leaks or the idle adjuster

Engine runs fine oil checks out good yet oil light comes on?

You need to verify that oil pressure is ok.
They sell gauge at the parts store which has to be connected to the engine block via oil pressure sender hole.
For that , take out oil pressure sender(unscrew) and screw the gauge in to the hole (con thread).Run the engine and see if pressure is ok at idle and on higher RPM.Gauge suppose to have scale (norm. , low , high ).If oil pressure within specs , repl. oil pressure sender.
Or just replace oil pressure sender and see if that helps. They are not expensive ~ $30.00 , gauge probably the same money.

Oil and handbrake lights flashing peugeot 106 s2

Hi, If you solve engine idle speed fault this will stop warning lights.
Oil preasure falls when engine not at norm rpm because oil pump is not turning fast enough.
Put car on diagnostics to check for any fault codes

Check engine light air Fuel mixture

When it comes on again let a regular shop scan it for you with a good scanner so they can see whats going on. a generic code reader wont do it. if it is stored in memory they can still check it. if the truck runs good idles fine just watch out for anything out of the norm , what about air filter and fuel filter have they been changed ? tune up ? air filters should be changed every 2 to 3 oil changes and fuel filter every 30k depending on fuel quality there. and tune up at 60 to 70 k even though they probaly said 100k.

My 1999 pontiac grand am will idle low, but does not cut off.

Sounds like your oil pressure sensor may be faulty. Or your oil level is very low. Your engine should idle as low as 650 rpm without your light coming on.

Engine will shutoff at low speeds and turning does it sometimes

Sounds like a dirty or faulty, IAC motor. (idle air control motor) It controls your idle speed under load, so vehicle doesn't stall at stop signs etc. Turning wheel, heater on, ac on etc, are all load conditions that it controls the idle for. Have had good luck at removing it, spraying it & port it comes out of on throttle body, with throttle body cleaner, and re-install. Some will take quite a while before they act up again, or may last a week or 2. if it does cure it, and it starts doing it too frequent after cleaning, replace it.
