I have a '92 dodge daytona es 3.0L
When i turn the key in the ignition, it just turns (hardly pauses at all in the 'on' posistion) The starter doesn't try turning the engine over no matter how hard the clutch is in, or how fast or slow i turn the key. There's still power from the battery and all the automatic stuff works.Do i have to replace where the key turns or something else?

I had a similar problem years ago. As long as your dash lights come on, it's likely you can use an external pushbutton switch to run the starter. There are likely just 4 wires on the ignition switch. Power from the battery, and switched to:
accessories
main car stuff (dash lights, ignition, signals, etc)
starter.
splice in wires from battery and starter to new switch, and you're good to go. This worked for years on my old car.
Check the operation of the ignition relay as well.
IS THERE AN AFTER-MARKET SECURITY SYSTEM INSTALLED? If so, you may need to disable it, as it is beginning to sound like that may be the issue.
just slide under the truck and test for 12 volts at the small wire to the starter whilel turning the ignition key. If you have 12 volts then it's your starter or engine ground strap. if not then you can suspect the ignition switch, neutral safety switch, clutch switch, fuse, relay or alarm with disabler.
there is two places where relays were placed on these cars. one where everyone knows is under the hood. second less people no is on the drives side up under by the fire wall. you have to take the bottom saftey cover off and than what each one is displayed on the back off the cover.
you don't need them, run your hot wire directly from battery, and the from push button switch to starter solenoid, but you will still have to have the key turned on to run
I have a 1992 Lexus ES 300 and I have discovered that there is a security mechanism, that once activated, will not allow the key to turn all the way--preventing ignition.
Wait for about half an hour to an hour and it will go back to normal.
Have you tried cycling key for fault codes? Turn ignition to on (not start) then off, then on, then off, then on, leave it on, and count flashes of check engine light. flash, flash, pause, flash flash, is code 22. 3 flashes, pause, then 5 flashes, would be code 35, etc. See what you get, & get back to us with them if you need more help.
