2005 Dodge Caravan Radio CD Player & Clock Not Working

On our recent drive to the airport our radio, clock, CD player and the A/C plugs in the front all lost power/stopped working. We tried to look for a fuse, then tried googling for what it might be but haven't had any luck. Everything else is working fine (interior lights, A/C plugs in the back, power windows, etc.) We'd REALLY like to avoid taking it in to have it repaired but I kinda like having a radio in the car and REALLY like having a way to plug my laptop in when we're on a long drive. Any suggestions?

Ours just did the same thing yesterday. I was using a compressor in the power socket and it suddenly stopped working, along with the stereo system

In my case, the solution was to replace the IOD fuse (15 AMP at the botton left side of the fuse box). My fuse was not burnt but corroded.

Can't solve it, but can give you possibly a push in the right direction. I heard something about these CD players having codes; not sure, haven't done any investigating yet. I just put a factory CD player in to replace the factory tape player and it stopped working the next day. The RDO/IP IGN fuse was fine; I switched it out with another like fuse that I knew what working and the CD player still didn't work. Still not sure what's wrong. Hope this helps you to find out what's wrong.

I HAVE SOLVED THE SHORTING OUT PROBLEM OF THE RADIO SHORTING OUT, FLASHING, RESETTING, OR JUST PLAIN NOT WORKING!!! It is in the radio, behind the buttons. After six months of listening fools tell me to connect and disconnect, change fuses, etc, and pulling my hair, i finally removed the radio. using a star set of drivers i removed the front panel of the radio, and then the green board on the back of that panel, looking for dirt or bad connections. i found two flat, square, gold contact points on the green panel. there were tow very thin metal contacts on the button board that corresponded to these contact points. i noticed the metal was bent very far down, so i very gently placed a tiny screwdriver behind the contacts and gently bent them forward, where they would make a better contact with the little squares. i screwed the radio back together, re-installed it, and BAM. worked like a champ. lights, buttons, switches, the works. i'm going to go take a ride now and listen to my radio -- on ALL the stations.

We bought a 2006 Dodge Caravan recently and the radio didn't work in that vehicle either. Today I took out the radio (disconnected the connector) and put it back in and now the radio works! I think disconnecting the radio from power might have triggered a reset in the controller for the radio. Or maybe it was a bad connection in the connector but I doubt this because I didn't see any corrosion.

SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Caravan radio and clock is dead

check the cigerette lighter or power socket fuse. then check them all because some fuses feed other fuse and are not labeled as such. there under the hood and there is one that may have a plastic cage around it its the one that the dealer personel are supposed to push down when taking delivery of vehichle it turns all that stuff of so battery wont go dead in the stock yards, it may have popped from the cig lighter or power port

Most likely a fuse. If your fuse box is labeled it will say radio under the fuse. If its not check your owners manual for location of fuse box and radio fuse.

Can't get CD out of player. EJECT no longer working . In a 2005 Grand Caravan single CD player

I'm assuming the radio works. If so,the player is jammed & unfortunately the only solution is to remove the radio & try to take it apart to retrieve the disk. Usually you end up destroying the radio, but it's shot anyway.

Wiring difference

If your installing a stock radio/cd player from another Dodge the wiring plug is the same and will fit.If your installing a aftermarket radio/cd player(JVC,Pioneer, etc)you will need to buy a adapter plug that wires up to the radio and is a direct fit to your factory wire harness,so your not cutting your wires. When you buy the adapter plug it comes with a wire diagram of which wire is what.Your aftermarket radio should have a diagram also, either on it or in the manual.Hope this helps you.
