My car will start and run for about 1/2 hr then it will chug and stall. It will not start again until it sits for about 1 hr. Added fuel injector cleaner but problem still there. I can hear the fuel pump working each time. Can u suggest another area to check? I would love to pay you but am unemployed...

You say you can hear the fuel pump working is that shortly after when it quits running you hear it or when it starts and runs, fuel pumps will work sometimes until it gets hot then it seizes until it cools off then there is enough clearance for it to work until it gets hot again.the chugging you mentioned sounds like it is running out of fuel.

Testimonial: "The feedback I recieved was very helpfull as it gave me an area to start looking for the problem as there can be multiple problem areas. Thanks"

Thank you for responding. When I turn the key on (without starting it) I can hear the fuel pump come on for a few seconds. when I go to start it after it stalls sometimes it will start again but chugs and soon as you give it some gas it stalls, Other times it will turn over but not start. I really appreciate your help.

When this stall or fails to start occurs have a pressure gage hooked up to the fuel injection pressure test port (top of engine in the pipe that supplies the fuel to injectors) and see if you are losing fuel pressure.

did your mechaniic check the fuel injectors, it very possibly could be 1 of them acting up, also have your mechanic to give your vehicle a fuel pressure test, this will tell if the pressure is within the specs for the year and engine size that you have. also have him to check the coil, or coils, 1 of them could be heating up, and breaking down, and after cooled for a while, they have been known to work again, untill they heat up again. also have him to check the fuel pump relay to see if it is getting bad, he might have to tempoarily replace it with another one just to see if it is acting up.

With the upper plenum removed and spark disabled turn on the key and allow the fuel pump to prime while watching the fuel lines from the back of the intake to the injector. I suspect you lines are leaking. Have seen this before. ALOT.
