The drum brakes are to tight and they locked up have the druns adjusted or replaced, do not drive the car in this conditions as you can damage brakes, clutch and engine.
All you can do to try to release them is pushing a couple of times the pedal.
If you feel they are completely locked have a mechanic in site, or tow the car to a garage. If it unlocks check the brakes the same, it is likely they lock up again.

Rear wheels are locked up and it will not roll. The Brake leaver is locked up will not adjust. it seems as though the brake in the rear end is locked up or the rear end is locked up.

could be that emergency is stuck on, sometimes pulling of the cables will loosen them up. If you are trying to adjust the brakes, are you sure you are backing them off and not just tightening them more? Sometimes a bad rubber hose can break down and maintain the pressure on the brake cylinders, locking them up. I would remove the wheels and back off the adjusters and free up the emergency to get the drums off. Once brake adjustment problems are eliminated to can work at figuring out if the rearend itself is broken/locked up.

86 honda wagovan right rear wheel locked up

Not sure about the advice above...If your experiencing a rear wheel locking up, I've seen where the emergency brake cable is not releasing and is stuck. Best bet is to have someone operate the E-brake while you watch the cable underneath the car on the right side. If you don't see the cable retracting, clamp a pair of vice grips tightly onto the cable (away from where it could retract into the sheath) and tap the vice grips "away" from the wheel. This will "persuade" the cable to retract, therefore releasing the emergency brake. If that's it, don't use the emergency brake until you either lube it real well or replace it. Good luck!

Van will not back up or drive forward. Seems like the back end is locked up. Van started and shifted into gear, but would not move.

If you can feel the thump of the engine when you select gear I would say the trans is working, most likely I would say that your emergency brakes are locked, your rear shoes are binding with the drum. 2 causes, a frayed cable may not be allowing you to release the the brakes, or the springs are soft in the rear brake area and not releasing. Jack up the rear put in neutral, emergency lever off, see if wheel can turn by hand, if not, remove wheel hit brake drum with rubber mallet to see if this releases the shoes off the drum. Inspect emergency brake cable first to see that there is little tension holding it. let me know how you go. cheers.

ABS and Advance track lights go on and off, but sometimes not always the front brakes feel like the are locking up (actually feels like the wheels are gonna fall off) replaced the sensor (in the back) that...

Sometimes if your rear sensors are in the brake backing plates, you will get debris from the Emergency brake pads and this will affect the sensor count. As the wheel revolution is perceived to be different from one rear wheel to the other, the Traction Control system automatically activates and applies the brakes to make the wheel revolution match on both back wheels.

The Emergency brake linings can fall off of the shoes and create this problem. The brake pads in the front can also separate from the front discs and make the ABS warning illuminate.

Best have a Brake shop remove the rear brakes as they can be a pain to get off when the Emergency brake linings grind up.

Back brakes lock up on 2009 chevy pick up

make sure emergency brakes not still engaged.could have faulty proportioning valve in brake mastercylinder.if you see abs light flashing could have faulty wheel speed sensor or bad rear wheel cylinder causing rear brakes lock up.many things will cause rear brakes remain lock up.

I replaced my rear brakes. Does the emergency brake automatically adjust itself?

Yes.....and no. Emergency brake should have been checked during brake pad replacement.
Most do adjust to new pads...ie: return to factory adjustment setting due to new pads .

The E brake lever should be applying braking to the wheels after three clicks are heard during application of the Emergency brake.

Lift rear of car and apply emergency brake to the third click. Now both rear wheels should drag equally but not be locked up.
.
If not, adjustment required.

However, late model cars need a scanner to pull back the pistons and install pads.

Emergency brake stuck, pedal release broken

What happens is the brake cables rust inside the cable sheath and then they won't slide easily. There's no good fix for this other than replacement. It's not easy to even find where they are stuck. It might be possible to find the end of the cables at the back wheels and pull the cables back---to release the tension

ABS is locked up on rear brakes

Check your brake line going into the caliper and the caliper on the wheel that makes the noise. It's probably a caliper or brake hose. Hope this helps. PHil
