Question about 1992 Acura Legend

1 Answer

1993 legend I've owned my car since 1996 and every July and August the same problem appears then disappears in fall. I am driving and shifting from low beams to high beams and my lights go out completely. If i wait a few minutes i can get the low beams on and continue driving. this usually happens when I'm driving long distances. I put on hazards to get to the side of the road until the lights work again. Have brought this to Acura but they have not been able to identify or solve the problem. Can you help?

Gear shift is loose

You will need to pull the steering column apart and inspect it for worn parts, I've never seen this in all the years I've worked for a Ford dealer

My car turns on and stays on. But it does not drive. I've tried the drive, reverse, 2, 1 and nothing happens. My car just won't drive.

if it will start in any gear the shift cable may be broken also should not shift unless brake is applied

97 Chevy Suburban - Should I replace my transmission?

You are your own best judge on that, i got a 95 silverado with 160,000 mi. and would not think twice about driving and pulling anything across the country, but one thing i would recamend (if it dosent have one already) is an external trans. cooler.

MY 1993 dodge dynasty will drive forward for about a block and slip out of gear, you can then pull over stop the car and put it in park and then start the car again and it will go another block. It will...

You are going to need to have the trans pulled again. There aren't any electrical problems that can cause no reverse. Also it sounds like the 2/4 clutch is burnt and when it slips it puts it in limp and 2nd is gone. Hopefully the shop that did it in July will help you with a warranty.

2002 toyota engine, oil sludgecaused my car to stopped and now needs overhaul

Complain to Toyota, they are fixing some of these car for free. Here is the explanation and the list of problem vehicles.

Oil sludge or black sludge is a solid or gel in motor oil caused by the oil gelling or solidifying, usually at temperatures lower than 100 degrees Celsius. Sludge can be a major contributor to Internal combustion engine problems, and can require the engine to be replaced, if the damage is severe. Sludge is usually caused by the presence of water in the oil, and can accumulate with use. Ways to minimize sludge production and accumulation includes performing frequent oil changes, using synthetic oil, and following the manufacturer's engine maintenance routine.
The following engines were reported by the Center for Auto Safety and/or their manufacturers to have a problem with sludge accumulation:

  • 1996-2001 Toyota 3.0 L 1MZ V6
  • 1996-2001 Toyota 5SFE I4
  • Feb 23, 2009 | 1995 Toyota Camry

Don't know what is causing the problem.

hi these boxes have always had problems they have said they cured them i suspect you will find that if you bought the car and have taken it back a month later its the garages responserbility to fix the problem at there expence if the garage refuses then get in touch with honda themseleves and insist they put it right as you will find there is factory recalls on these boxes of that year i cannot remember off the top of my head what they changed to repair the problem but it wasn,t a complete box i think it was the clutch solenoids but am not sure do a bit of digging i think you will find i am correct on the factory recalls yates210456
