Question about 2001 Dodge Neon
My car shudders and stalls when braking transmission slips
Shuddering brakes means you need a brake job... If you're up to it, take the rotors off and have them turned at a local auto parts store. pick up new pads while there...
Also, get some transmission fluid. watch the type for dodge is different than, say, ford. Drop the transmission pan and let all the old fluid drain into a large pan. replace filter while pan is off. replace and fill with recommended amount. [see owner's manual or chilton's guide.
Or - take to a mechanic and tell him. replace the pads, turn the rotors, new xmission fluid and filter...
