Is the oil on top of the engine in the bolts that hold the valve cover on tight? How about oil around the spark plugs when you pull them out?
If this is the case, this is a very easy fix. You have to replace the valve cover gasket as well as the gasket rings around the bolts and spark plugs. These rings are included when you buy the valve cover or they should be. If not, ask for them. I used auto part store gaskets and they do not last as long as the ones I get from the dealer. Not sure why but it could be the difference in quality of the products.
I have a 1992 Accord with 291K and it runs like a top. I have replaced several items over the years like the starter, timing belts, 3 sets of tires etc. but no major failures. The key is to do things proactively so they do not become a major failure. I always have any type of oil leaked fixed before it causes additional issues somewhere else.
Hope this helps.

IT COULD BE THE IDLE SPEED SENSOR THAT IS NOT ALLOWING IT TO STAY RUNNING. THIS DEVICE IS LOCATED NEAR THE THROTTLE BODY, WITH A PLUG ON IT WITH THREE WIRES. UNPLUG IT TO SEE IF IT WILL IDLE. IF IT DOES THEN REPLACE IT. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. PLEASE KEEP ME INFORMED. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. AND THANK YOU IN ADVANCED FOR AN HONEST RATING.

I have a 99 Honda Accord EX. Works in reverse only. Other gears I need to wait a long time before engaged then after a short will jumps out. Now ill not go into forward gears.

SOURCE: 95 Accord low load misfire.
your EGR valve is probably sticking, clogged or has clogged your fuel rail....I had the exact same problem with my 94 accord, Good news is its most likely a clog in your fuel rail and not your actual EGR valve. so the fix is free...
