Question about Chevrolet Tahoe

1 Answer

The cable slipped off the lever of my rear fold down seat of my 99 Tahoe. So now it won't release so I can fold it down. My question; is there a release somewhere so I can fold this seat down so I can get to this cable?

Thanks. That is what I did but I also had to unbolt the seat from the braces so that the seat would lift far enough to actually reach the lever. Problem solved but what a pain.

I am not posative but i believe that if you look under the seat and pull that cover out of the way a bit you will see the lever that cable pulls and you can move it by hand so you can fold the seat.

I have a 2003 chevrolet tahoe how do I fold The seat down

The second row is folded by first pulling up the rear of the seat cushion and folding up 'til it's behind the back of the front seat. Then the back of the seat folds down where the seat cushion was.

The third row seats have several levers that are numbered in the sequence they are to be operated. First fold the seat back down on to the cushion and then flip the whole seat up 'til it's vertical and latched.

This is described in the Owner's manual if you can find one.

How do i remove seat control cable in a 02 chevy tahoe

If you can lift the seat bottom you well see the cable to your left towards the center of the seat frame atthe floor , there well only be approx 2 to 3 inches of cable showing, the rest of the cable goes throght the frame and comes out at the seat back to your right towards the center. ( this based that your are on the driver side ) Look for the cable coming out to a lever , pry down on that lever while puliing on the seat in a shaking motion to get seat to release.... good luck

Toyota venza left rear seat fold down release cable is disconnected.how do I remove to replace

Releases in trunk is of no use: no tension/connection therefore cannot engage/pull the cable to release seat to go down. The lever on lower right side of rear right seat won't engage, just flops about.

2004 3rd row rear seat won't fold down using lever

Cable is broken or stretched. pick up the bottom seat and see the cable end if broken or slack from being stretched pull that cable and then the back should fold down. Ibelieve you will need to remove seat to repair the cable. the bottom seat when lifted pulls on a cable that releases the backs lock to fold down

I can't into my trunk there is something stuck therefore i need to fold down my rear seats and move it but i don't know how to fold them down I trie but i got nowhere

Be sure that your model has fold down rear seats...you should see the seperation around both rear seats...if equipped, the fold down release is located at the top corner of each rear seat...pull the lever up to release...if your model does not have the fold down option...you will need to remove the rear seat...remove the lower cushions first...look on the lower front of the seats for hold down bolts...second you will need to remove the top of the rear seat...hold down bolts are at the bottom of the top cushion...after removing the bolts (one each side) you need to push up on the cushion to remove...this will then allow access to the trunk...find the trunk latch and try to release by twisting the latch cable...Hope this helps...

1999 Tahoe rear seat relase quit working; can't fold down seat!

There is a cable that pulls the release when you fold down the bottom seat. Broken cable can be repaired by replacing cable.

Driver side second row seat will not fold down. When pulling the release catch the seat does not release . I can not fold the seat flat to carry a large load in the rear of the vehicle.

I had the same problem. The dealer wanted $400 to replace the latch. I didn't wnat to pay that much so I looked at it and found that the release strap was twisted and jammed in the mechanism. Here's how I fixed it.

I removed the screw from the lever and removed the lever. I pulled apart the plastic housing. It does not come apart all the way but enough to work on it. Pull the release strap that comes out of the back and pull it clear of the mechanism and straighten it out. slip the lever back on and the seat should fold. Fold it up all the way to make it easier to reassemble. Pull the lever back off and slip the release strap back into the slot and make sure it is not twisted or kinked. Snap the housing back together, put the lever back on, and screw it in. Test it and it should work fine. Hope this helps,

'07 Chevy Tahoe 3rd Row seat will not fold down

I have had this problem, and I am having it again. The problem is if a little trash gets under the bar in the floor, it will keep the mechanism from locking completely. I had tried everything. The only solution so far is the rock back and forth. Real pain. I am trying to find a secret release.

2003 chevy tahoe 2nd row seating

lower the bottom portion, there will be two black cables. follow them toward the back of the seat, past a black round plate, where they become top and bottom cables. Push down toward the floor board on the bottom cable (my bottom cable is no longer black coated but rather a bare feeling cable wire). When pushing down on the bottom cable, pull the seat forward. As the seat does come forward the headrest will fold back at the same time. Not an easy find for me either, they should just make a release lever, but oh well..... I Hope this helps. Just keep playing around with those two cables until it finally does release.
