1994 Honda Civic Si...fuel pump, filter, or fuse...computer maybe..

I was driving the car and the gauges dropped to zero on both rpm and speed...about a mile later the car went dead...I tried to crank it back up and it would start to turn over and go but only go to about 1-3thousand rpms and die again...it will turn over but won't catch and continue to run....

PLEASE I NEED HELP HERE!!!!! I don't know what to do.....

I have same prob. 1994 Honda Civic DX, will crank but wont turnover. The next day or two, it might just turnover- hit or miss!! Had mechanic change out all likely culprits. Works for a few days, maybe a week. Then it won't start. Honda dealer wants to "change computer" for $1100. Not sure if its worth it or if this is the real problem. Help please.

If you don't have power going to the feul pump, and you changed the main relay and it still won't start , the computer could be bad.

The speed sensor might be bad. I used to own a 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse with the same symptons. The car will start, but will not pass the 1st or 2nd gear, the speedometer will be at 0. I replaced the speed sensor and all the problems went away.

I got a 1994 honda civic today I thought it ran out of gas I put gas in the car now it turns over and it wont start

Check the fuse for the fuel pump, if blown replace it. If it is good. turn the key on and put your ear to the gas tank, you should hear a humming from the fuel pump, if it is not making any sound then the pump is probably bad. If it is pumping then your fuel filter must be plugged.

a dirty or faulty MAF sensor can cause proplems like this. try cleaning it with CRC MAF cleaner you can get it at just about any autoparts store. the MAF is located on the air intake disconnect the electrical connection and remove the sensor be careful not to damage the fragile filaments inside. there is no need to wipe it just spray it clean and let air dry be sure to spray all parts plug, filaments everything

Fuel starvation. How well do you trust your fuel gauge?
Also check you gas tank for damage, dent or otherwise.
Possible at speed fuel shifts towards fuel pump and away
when stopped.
