Attach hood prop rod 2001 Ford Focus

The prop rod does not attach firmly and sometimes blocks the hood from closing properly. I am worried the hood will fall and it is very annoying trying to find the correction positioning so the hood closes! Any suggestions.

First you will need to get a hood prop bushing from pobably your Ford dealer or you can get one from a salvage yard. You may also need a hood rod attchment. In order to attach your hood rod on. In order to allow your hood to close without the rod interfering with the closing of your hood. This can either be obtained at your dealer or salvage yard. Then you will need a 4or 5 foot poll in order to prop your hood.So that you can place the bushing in and also hood attachment bushing. Both bushings snap right in. You will need to take your hood rod and place it in the hole of the bushing the hood rod should have a short bend at the bottom of it.Like an L or 7 the L shape should seat it self into the bushing. In order to erect the rod to hold the hood up.Or in order to attach it on the hood attachment. Before closing the hood. The hood rod bushing for extending your hood rod.In order to hold your hood up.Goes in the side of the inside frame of the body to the rear of the passenger side of the car again it just snaps in. And the hood rod attachment goes towards the front of the passenger side and it also snaps in.It's located horizontal of the headlight. The hood rod bushing is a 2 sided little round shaped plastic bushing just big enough for your hood rod to fit through. And it is usually white. And your hood rod attachmewnt is usually black.

Also take care that when you use the poll to prop your hood you prop it in a manner that it is lodged securely both on the hood over head and in either the block o f the engine or the frame of the car.I usually Try proping it in the little square hole of the battery box and some place near the edge of the top of the hood!@ Good Luck!

Is there a ford focus timing marks single overhead cam diagram

depending on trans and engine mount type the mark my be on flywheel but generally most cars it is located on the belt pulley attached to crank rod, center bottom one on engine block. the timeing mark should be visable from top looking down. if you use a big ratchet to turn over the engine by hand and go slowly, you should see thhe marks pass as you do so.

How to open a hood

Small handle on drivers side near the doorway jamb (inside vehicle), usually has a picture of a car with the hood opening,. Pull that, then feel around in the slot created at the front hood by releasing the initial latch for the secondary safety handle. Move it to the side or up/down (model differ) to fully release hood. Raise hood, insert prop rod into hood if so equipped.

My passenger side front window (England, left) dosnt work properly. It goes down ok but it will not go back up unless operated by the drivers doors. (England, Right)

Hi, has your car got global closing. Sometimes they forget their memory, normally after pulling a fuse or flat battery. Open all your windows, sunroof if you have one. Press the lock on your fob and keep held down, all windows should close, this also works for opening when you keep hold of the open button, try doing this a few times, eventually it restores memory. I also have a 2001 focus.

Grease points on ford focus 2001

Motor vehicles do not have grease points anymore. (Except fpr wheel bearings and CV joints). All other joints and moving parts are sealed or are nylon type joints. That is one thing you no longer need to worry about.

Ive got water pouring from the right hand side of the block when i fill my radiator. Its a ford focus saloon 2001 2.0

Hi !
When you sat "Block" you mean from the radiator block or the engine Block.???
Its easier to repair radiarors.
If its the engine block .... cleck if the water is leaking from the side wall or there is a drain tap that is not closed properly..... this is near the lower portion of the block on the right hand side .....if it is from the drain tap then you are lucky... just tighten it...
you will need to find the exact place of leak and block it with an industrial adhesive.
This usuall happens when you try to fill the radiator with cold water while the BLOCK is still HOT. The metal cracks.
