You need to remove the four nuts in the center of the hub. There are two threaded holes in the hub portion you need to install in each a bolt the appropiate size, I think 8mm threads, and tighten them until the drum pulls off.

First you should back the brakes off by removing a rubber plug on the inside of the backing plate. Then put the wheel nuts on just a bit. With a hammer strike between the lugs, going from side to side. The drum will soon start to 'rock'. The nuts were put on to avoid damage to the lugs. Hope this helps you! Frankster016

Well depending on how worn the drums are like if the shoes are down to the steel and have worn a deep groove in the drum you will have a hard time getting them off. First of All make sure you remove the two phillips screws from the drum to allow it to come off. Can you please give me more information on where you are with the repair does the drum move at all when you try to take it off. Make sure the Parking Brake is Fully released

Brake drum

If this is a rear rotor having a Emergency drum or simply a brake drum, it is often necessary to force the Emergency brake closed to eliminate clearance problems.
With some vehicles, the hub will rust and the brake drum or rotor will be bonded together. Penetrating oil, rubber hammer, and rotating the drum will help the oil spread behind the fixture.
Sometimes you need some heat.

Removing rear drums

Most of the time the drum has worn to the point where there is a grove in them and the edge of the brake shoe is hung on that grove when trying to pull the drum off. what i usually do is losen up my star adjuster and wiggle the drum around and most of the time i have to tap it off with a small hammer. (not the kind of hammer that you use on nails)

I have a 2002 ford focus and I cant get the rear drum off the back

IF IT IS DRUM BRAKES,YOU WILL HAVE TO GO BEHIND THE REAR DRUM AND ADJUST THE BRAKES TO ALLOW YOU TO REMOVE DRUM,PROBABLY A SPRING OR A ADJUSTER IS HUNG UP,IF YOU STILL CAN'T YOU WILL HAVE TO PRY THE DRUM OFF WITH A PRY BAR,ONCE YOU HAVE IT OFF REPLACE ALL HARDWARE AND SHOES.

Cant cant remove rear drum brakes on 2001 ram 1500

You need to remove the rubber plug on the back of the shoe hold down plate. Next you need a brake adjusting tool or a flat screwdriver to back off the adjuster. This operation will take a few turns depending on how deep a groove has been worn in the drum. If it is tightening, you've gone the wrong way. Next remove the drum. Hope this helps you. Good luck!

How do you change rear brake? cant get drum off saturn ion 04

First of all check the drum for two screws that go through the drum into the back bread plate, if not then take a hammer and hit the drum, be careful not to hit the lugs, you have to loosen the drum because over time it gets rusty and sticks to the lug nut plate that the lugs are attached too..........Hope this helps....any other questions just ask....

Cant fit drums over pads

You need to retract the brake shoes, via the center adjuster mechanism. As your old brake wore, the adjuster moved the shoes outward. Simply move the adjuster to retract the shoes, then slide the drum on. Then, readjust the rear shoes.
