97 Ford expedition check engine light flashing, truck running rough.

A flashing CEL means that you might be causing damage to your CATs. It will flash when the PCM senses a misfire bad enough to cause fuel to dump into the exhaust. When that happens lay off the throttle. Chances are you've got a bad injector or bad plug.

Use a code reader to know the real reason that check engine light come on.

My check engine light came on with 151,000 miles, would oil change make light come on could be a injector going bad?

Check engine light is an indicator that something is bad with your car and is recorded in your car's computer by mean of error code .

So we cannot pre assume what has caused the light to come on. We must perform a scan on the car and get to know the error code . Once the code is known then you can know the exact fault by means of the code and rectify the same. Most auto zone shop does the scanning for free.

When my SLP light comes on, my 2002 Altima will not accelerate. When it goes off the car operates fine but the check engine light stays on. what does the car need if the SLP light comes on from time to...

On many nissan altimas I have found bad ignition coils. Usually one bad one will creat a problem. The slp gets gounded through the ignition coil. When the ignition coil is going bad it shorts out other systems. Go to autozone or use a method to retrieve check engine light. If i knew the code it would be helpful. When the car is running rough disconnect one ignition coil with car off. Restart car. If car runs worse that means that coil is good. repeat process. If you have one coil disconnected and the car runs the same that means that ignition coil is not sending spark to your spark plug therefore creating a misfire and making your car run rough. That check engine light is most like likely linked to your slp light. If you find a bad coil using this teqnique replace it, your car will run better. I would like to know your check engine codes and this will determine problem better. If you have a misfire code or a po1300 code that points towards a bad coil

might be an engine light. if the car is running normal its probably a ******** code like massive leak in the evap system that really doesn't mean anything other than you will fail a e check

intermittent engine codes are not serious and it just indicates that one or more of the sensors is reporting a bad what ever time intervals.....this just means that as you drive , bad connections develops as a result of the movement for a second or long enough for the computer to detect a fault and then it goes back to can check for bad connections yourself by wiggling the wires with engine running and see if the light comes on ..which will tell you where the bad connection is and then fix it yourself or just wait until the connection gets really bad and the engine light stays on permanently .the computer will then store the code thats causing the fault and you'll know exactly where it's coming from.

Check engine light

This could be anything from a bad sensor, to a bad ECM.

The cars computer turns that light on when it detects something isn't right. Your car is always running a diagnostics on itself to ensure nothing is wrong. You can either take the car to a shop and they'll put it on a computer to diagnose what the engine code is. OR you can run over to you local Auto store and pick up a "Code Reader" for about 25 Dollars. It comes with a book that will tell you what the code means, the code reader (which you plug into the car) and instructions (to show you how to plug it into the car)

Other than that, I can't really help until you find out which error code the car is giving you.

Cam position sensor

The cam position sensor tells your computer when the #1piston is in position and your vehicle will not run without it as it would not know when to fire the cylinders. However, you could be having intermittent problems with it which means it is failing but hasn't broken completely yet. Since you have a code in for the sensor I would check the wiring and connection. If all that looks ok then I would replace the sensor. Better to replace it before it completely fails and strands you someplace.
