How to time a dohc

HI...
TO set timing belt. on a 3.4 95 chevy.
you need to remove the VALVE Covers.
at the and of the camshafts, you will see grove.
In the grove you need to put a metal flat piece croosing both of the cams. to lock on position.
and put the timing mark on the crankshft pulley ore sproket.
