Try to determine how much is leaking by putting a plastic pan under car overnight..
Typical leak sources are pan gasket, oil plug, oil pressure sender.

If burning oil, it will be obvious at startup and/or from the rear while driving especially during hard acceleration. Have some drive behind you to observe. They'll see obvious bluish smoke.

If burning is most responsible, and not much is leaking, you may have worn valves or piston rings.
Both fairly expensive to repair. As a temporary cheap solution, add oil additive (such as STP or Rislone) to reduce burning (it may slow the leak a bit too).

My Alto VXR 2004 has a problem that its engine oil is getting lesser fast in quantity. I am using Zic A as engine oil.local car mechanic says engine weak he says gas kit and engine head problem

is is odometer reading?
all cars burn oil if driven real fast, at 80mph, lots.
what i need is ,
1: speeds driven. avg.
2: and what weight, oil , is it hot there, sure, then run 10w-40 oil.
3: how many liters of oil per miles.
some cars go for years, burning 1quart of oil per 3000 mile.s
1L/5000 km to 1L /1000 km. (new car to old)
even more. on older engines.
if the engine runs good, drive it and change oil more often.
check oil at every petrol fill up, and learn what your engine needs
all engine burn oil by design. its a fact.

do an engine compression test.
2 times wide open throttle.
on a warm engine
if lower that spec, 150psi?
then add 1 teaspoon, of oil to spark hole , see if compression rises
if it does, its rings are old.
post the numbers, if all are 150 or more , drive it like you stole it.
half joking there, but drive it. and change oil often and check oil levels
every fill up or every other (depends on reality)

post the compression test readings. only NUMBERS count.
we need numbers and engine size.

Mystry oil consuption,,no leaks

You burning oil? Blowing it past the rings and out the exhaust? Oil can collect on the rings and burn and it can pass the rings and blow out the tailpipe with enough pressure (driving hard and fast a lot of the time like a street racer). If you are burning oil, your rings may be stuck allowing oil to collect on them. I've found that replacing conventional oil with thinner, synthetic will loosen the rings up making them seal better again and the thinner synthetic runs off the rings faster instead of collecting. Plus synthetic doesn't burn like dinosaur juice does. Easy fix to burning oil. Had it be the case on multiple older vehicles. No leaks, just burning. If you have a real old, loose engine all gummed up with dirt and oil all over the place, synthetic might expose/cause leaks due to how thin and slick it is. It doesn't carbonize like conventional oil and will help clean out voids the dino-juice gummed up. I've put it in a 1983 Toyota pickup with no problems. If the car is juck, be careful. If it's maintained fairly well and taken care of, give synthetic a shot. I stuck 5w-30 synthetic in a 1989 ford probe that asked for 10w-30 that burned a quart a month. Shortly after, no more oil loss. Hope this helps.

My 2oo7 jeep wrangler keeps needing oil, but shows no sign of leaking and no sign of burnning it.

how fast is it dissapearing? if it is dissapearing fast check your radiator to see if it is going into the radiator if so that is a blown head gasket. if it dissappears slowly the oil is breaking down. my brother turned me on to casterol oil. it doesn't break down like normal oils

Chrysler 300 3.5 v6 Slight engine knock - oil always changed

I have a 2006 with a 3.5 (41,000 miles). No oil consumption but had the knock. Started as a slight knock and continued to get louder. My buddy works at the dealer and hooked me up. Chrysler knows about this problem, it's the rocker arm assembly coming apart. They have a new revised part to fix the problem. THEY NEED TO RECAL THIS.

Burning over a quart of oil every two weeks

you more than likely have some bad rings.

Go to autozone and buy a bottle of Lucas oil treatment, and add it to the oil, if this does not solve the problem you will need an engine rebuild.

2000 Camry Engine replace - continuing the questions

Yes I have replaced Engine and Transmission. for a few car ,, From JASPER.
But I never had a Problem. And I gave the warranty to my Customer.

How long the cars are able to keep driving?.
Is almost inpossible to know.
But Depend of Good Maintenance. And use conditions..
Important, When you do OIL CHANGE. Don't do on Quick lube or Fast SERVICE.
Because all of them use a BULK RECICLED OIL.
I noted this OIL has a hight level of Consuption.

OK.. I hope this help.

Thank you..
