The theft light keeps blinking on and of indicating pcm 16. the car wont start until the light stops blinking though it only cranks. do you know how too reset it with the original factory key?

The PATS - passive anti-theft system light does not flash codes . Your best bet is to have your vehicle towed to a qualified repair shop or have a lock smith come fix it . You don't have the knowledge or tools to fix this problem,
The factory Passive Anti Theft System (PATS) has been activated. If the light is blinking fast, it means that the key is no longer recognized. If you have another key try that one. If not, you will have to call a locksmith or have it towed to a Ford dealer. Worst case you will need a new key. Make sure you get a spare.
The first thing to do, in just about all cases on a modern vehicle, is to scan the computers. they have lots of software that is designed to help you figure out what the problem is and there are literally thousands of trouble codes that trigger when some part of a system is failing. the people at auto zone are not trained technicians. it is like asking a clerk at a **** store to treat an illness. take your Ford or tow it to a sharp shop that knows how to do electronic/computer/anti-theft diagnosis, or you will just be wasting your time and money Good Luck!

the computer may need to be re-flashed by a dealer, if there is one digit that is off from your original engine block(which may depict a different type of sensor or two) things get added to these newer engines to help control emissions, hope this helps....bring it in to a reputable dealer, tell them what you did and they will tell you the same thing

Rpm being so high at 3000 at idle

Not sure of the year of your vehicle but as far as just disconnecting the battery it may or may not work. As I said I'm not sure of the year which makes the computer system diffrerent depemding on the year. I will tell you this. I am in the business and have been for 25 plus years and the computer programming software I have just for General Motors most likely cost me around 3 thousand. That's just the software and doesn't include the cost of the computer itself that the software has to be loaded in to. The computer was around 5 grand. So just for General Motor products you are looking at about 8 grand. Then every year there are updates which cost as well for the newer models. I am the last person to stick up for any shop because most of them are rip offs but you have to understand our costs to be able to work on these computers that are put in vehicles today. I would not have charged you 100 of course because the dealers are the worst rip offs but please understand our position and why there are charges for programming. I didn't even mention the software costs for the Fords, Chrysler and Asain models and don't let me even get into the cost of the European vehicles. I answer questions for free on here just so people don't get ripped off cause I hate seeing it happen. In the future, feel free to email me directty at csautomotivecars@att.net if you ever have a repair qustion and I will be happy to try and help and yes it would be at no cost.

The Trac off light and the Abs light come on and stay on for a while. Then a you can hear a noise now and again. The light will turn off but then it comes on again. This is a 2001 Chevrolet Impala

either a bad front wheel bearing assembly (has speed sensor inside) or the wiring harness to it at the a arm. repair shop can tell u what side the abs records the codes it sets. then u can decide if u wanna fix it urself or not.btw that noise is the abs motor turning on/activating because the abs computer is confused by the fact its getting a bunk signal from one of the speed sensors(almost always in the front)

No cruise control available light comes on, and when this sign appears cant rev the car over 3K rpms driving on highway, going down hill and foot of the pedal light will come off

never heard of this before ,so obviously the cruise control is allowing the throttle to work then when it has a cough it puts engine on limp or slow speed .this vehicle is fly by wire so try changing the sensors on the pedals .Or just put it into dealers because if the correct part isnt known then changing parts willy nilly could cost more than a dealer repair

Crankcase sensor

Crank sensor? Not necessary for long instructions ...It's located in a hard to reach place, on the trans bellhousing, even with the flywheel on the drivers side about 10 oclock looking from the rear to front. The harness extends to near the master cylinder up at the firewall. It's held on with two small screws. Easier to say than do, but remove the screws, take it out, put the new one back in.

Nissan Maxima 1996 issues-sensors

Dear Gandhi
1) You better check the 'Idle control relay' - and pray this is not your computer - who may be shorted ( The Computer that govern all elec. functions in the car - is also getting signals from your Mothor Mounts' to ensure a more balanced ride' If one or more of the Motor Mounts ( There are 3 ) are defective - they send a signal to the computer - and the yellow light ( Check engine soon) - will appear'
2) A Computer can only be fixed by a Nissan dealer ( est. $750 ) 3) The Idle control valve - can be adjusted too ( Again - by a Nissan Dealer only .
4) It is NOT an easy problem nor cheap . In short - your best bet is with the dealer - and ask them for a diagnostic ONLY ( est. $100 ) Don't tell the dealer what YOU think or did .......just tell them the 'Yellow light comes on' .......they'll take it from there.
Sorry I don't have better news today .

Best of luck
David
