Question about 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6

1 Answer

When playing a DVD the owner manual says to push the CD/Aux button on the radio to get the DVD sound to play through the cars speakers. This doesn't work. We can only get the DVD sound to come through the headphones. Is there something wrong, or are we not doing something right.

Same problem, can push the cd/aux button and it will not switch through the stereo speakers, only works through the headsets, has anyone determined what fixes it?

...with the additional problem that the CD player mechanism won't play CDs either. But that shouldn't be related. Getting a replacement headunit, but have a feeling that won't help the DVD sound issue.

Make sure the headphones are powered off. If you press the CD/AUX button twice the headphone symbol should disappear and it will play through the car speakers.

Start looking at the wires to the speakers, follow each one at a time and look for worn or broken speaker wires. You can also check the fuse for the system. Hope that Helps

Can't take the mute off it plays no problem but no sound

Do you know which button is the mute button? It may be stuck down. If you can't push the button at all, you can try to pull the fuse that goes to the CD player/radio. Usually the fuses are located a little below and to the left of the steering wheel. The car's owner manual should tell you which number fuse goes to the radio.

How to work 12 disk changer in 2001 corvette with a bose radio

Hello my name is Ben. I have had 2 of these cars and they both worked the same. Once you load the cartridge with your CDs and insert the cartridge into changer and close that little door on the changer the rest is automatic. On the dash you will see two buttons to the left of the radio display. One says TAPE AUX. That is the button that switches from radio to the CD changer. Push the TAPE AUX button and the CD changer will play whichever CD is selected. The PREV button if pressed during the first 8 seconds of a song will go to the previous song, if PREV is pressed after 8 seconds it will go to the beginning of the song. The PROG button will go to the next CD. The NEXT button will go to the next song on the CD you are playing. The REV and FWD allow you to quickly move within a song, either forward or backward. If you have any other questions, just ask, I have the owners manual readily available. I know it should be in the car, LOL

How do you work the sound on the DVD player?

I have a 2005 with DVD - but do not have the wireless headphones. I use the AUX button on the front radio to switch between FM/AM/and the DVD Player. I do have headphones jacks in the roof console by the DVD player, but have never used them.
