Wont crank is sign of bad starter or bad battery or connections from positive fat cable to starter. or bad solenoid. or even relay that signals solenoid to engage. also if car shuts off and wont start but cracnks. it could be the pickup coils in distributor, not giving it signal to fire spark or alarm system bypassed wrong

Hello to anyone that can help. I am having trouble getting a 91 Honda Civic LX to start when it is hot or when it is hot outside. mechanics tell me it is the main relay plug which is located under the...

it is located on driver side left of fusebox on my 91 civic hatchback. You have to look, its not under the dash but under the side portion where the air vent for heat & air cond. is. Held on by metal bracket that is attached to the relay. you may have to stand on your head to see it or remove your lower dash panel portion to get to it. probably have to pull bolt out of bracket first to access the relay. It took me a bit to find mine but thats where it was.

1991 honda civic si starting problem

have you check the ground wire from your negative wire to battery post? check to see the battery is strong. if it doesn't turn over the engine or crank the engine mean no good ground to the cables. if the car ran fine I dont understand why the car wont crank or turn the motor over it just quit. if the battery check out strong 12 V, starter serenoid may be faulty on your starter or it may be hot and will not turn starter over.

I have a 91' honda civic hatchback and it starts idle surging.

Check and make sure your coolant level is up. If it's up, your idle air control valve is faulty or your cold start solenoid isn't working anymore. Both are activated by the engine water temp.

91 civic won't start

Perhaps . You can loosen the timing belt cover " plastic " enough to see if the belt has snapped. Otherwise you may have to remove cover to see.
