How to manually open the dampers

I have a 91 deville that never had a working heater. I fixed the prob by unhooking the actuator, or blend door motor. Now i have defroster, and heat comming from floor, but no vents. The actuator is behind the trap door in glove box, its a black box with a rod connecting to the blend door. After unhooking, make sure the blendoor is all the way to the right, i wired my in that position. Heater works good, and have had no probs. Hope this helps

Defrost not working in 2000 chrysler 300

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the desired vents.

Heater not working on 2010 f-150

If both heater hoses are hot, and the radiator is full of coolant, it may be a blend door problem under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and out thru the vents.
It may still be under Ford warranty.

Heat

Could be a problem with a blend door under the dash.
The blend doors are controlled by vac or electric motors and direct air thru the heater core and the vents.
Defrost is the default position when the HVAC system is not working.

Problem is usually a stuck or faulty blend door motor under the dash.

2005 grand caravan front heater and defrorst not working ,rear heater is working . i also hear a hissing noice on the passenger side

Just a suspicion: hissing noise comes from failed/jammed/malfunctioning motor to move the door
in the ducting to route heated air to the hoses/ports for "heater" and "defrost."
Problem: failure of motor/linkage to heater/defrost selector door under the dash on the passenger side.
Also sounds like you have not blown fuse to this selector door.
Also - hissing noise could be air being forced against the closed door (which should be open) - in this
case, you'd want to check the fuse to the heater/defroster actuator door.
The rear heater works since its function is not related to the operation of the front heater/defroster.

MY 1995 FORD MUSTANG 3.8, THE HEATER STOPPED WORKING ON ALL SETTINGS, FROM FLOOR TO DEFROST ETC. THE HEATER WORKS ONLY ON DEFROST, ITS LIKE IT DEFAULTED TO DEFROST, BECAUSE IT DOSENT HAVE TO BE ON...

Your blend door is stuck. The bled door is vacum operated. Make sure there are no broken vacum hoses under the hood. If that is okay then your hrad unit may be bad, or your blend door may need replacement.

Blender door not working correctly on 2003 grand Marquis. Bows out defrost but not vents. Occasionly out the vents but not often

not blend door, blend door is responsible for mixing hot air from heater core side with cold air from evaporator side of the system. you have a problem with your panel doors it may be an electrical problem with signals from you heater control module or a vacuum problem or you may have damaged components inside your dash. your vehicle will default to defrost setting automatically if there is a problem in the system
