Question about 1982 Chevrolet El Camino

1964 El Camino headlight problem

I have a '64 ElCamino with a rebuilt 327/ 300hp, double hump heads, small cam, about 1000 miles on rebuild. I have replaced the generator, voltage regulator, horn relay, dimmer switch, headlight switch, and turn signals on a factory tilt column. My problem is, intermittently the headlights will flicker on and off. What have I missed? I have another forward light wire harness and can put it in if necessary. Any ideas before I go to that trouble?
thanks,
bernie grant

Do you have high power globes fitted more than 65W.
If so you will need a relay to supply H/Lamps as the original headlamp switch has built in circuit breaker only good for about 15Amp

Hoe to replace dash pad on 64 Impala

I had a 1965 El Camino and it had either 3/8 or 7/16 nuts holding it on from under the dash. You may have to remove the glove box and the instrument cluster to get to the nuts.

Ok where does both the fuel line and the vacum return line go to from the gas tank of a 1982 chey el camino

On the elcamino thats back firing after being tuned up,you may have accidently crossed a wire ,I'd check that first.Firing order is clock wise 18436572, 1357 are on drivers side starting at front of engine and 2468 are on passenger side starting at front of engine.Hope this helps.

How do i change oil pan gasket on 72 elcamino

That's not a hard job but writing it out is far longer than anyone will do. You need to lift the engine and support it, remove the exhaust pipe and starter.
Don't forget the oil pump is hanging inside and you need to get around it.
If you cant find a manual for the el camino, get one for a chevelle of the same year. they are identical.
