I had the same problem with my 01 Century. After some surfing, I found that there is a special tool for removing them. Not wanting to pay for it, I just used Channel locks. You have to push down on the spring loaded part of the arm, while pulling up with the plyers. It took some trying but they come off.

The rear window wiper blade holder is rusted how do I remove it for replacement?

Three things you can replace depend on your budet
1) you can replace whole wiper blabe assembly by lift up the cover at the bottom end of the bale assembly and un-screw the nut and raplace whole assembly with arm , wiper insert etc ... with the new one This way cost you more.
2) on hte middle of the whole wiper blade assy has the flexible section, you can un-screw 2 small philipe pan head screw with screw driver and disconnect the top section with the wiper blade insert (rubber)
3) slide wiper blade insert out of the holder, becareful with 2 small steel blade will hole your rubber insert inside the wiper frame. Slide new rubber insert in the frame .

Nut provides torque to hold wiper body firm to transmission knub

Yes it is but there is more than 1 way to tie your shoes! I would replace the arm assembly and use a high quality epoxy, like JB WELD or an epoxy we use in replacing body panels called panel bond. Clean the old hub with a brass brush and the new part just needs to be washed with acetone or a like cleaner. Apply a small amount to each and install. No more sword fighting wiper blades. Your welcome in advance...dc

How do you remove the wiper arms to replace wiper blades on an import toyota lucida/emina

Take it to a parts store they will do it for free, there is a U shaped device that you have to move in order to get them off, and I don't know if your replacing the blade or the wiper assembly they are different. You should replace the assembly as they were out over time and will not clean the whole mirror.

Need to replace driver side wiper do not know how to get it off

I believe the blade is the same as my F-250, according to the manual. Pull the wiper away from the windshield, then push on either end of the blade, follow blade to pivot point at center, where blade pivots back and forth on wiper arm (wiper arm will not be moving as you do this). You need to push towards the windshield at this pivot point to push in on the wiper arm and out on the blade assembly to pop the round end of the wiper arm out of the hole in the blade assembly. Look at the new blade to see where this attaches. The new one should snap on to the arm when u squeeze the wiper arm to the blade. I prefer Exact Fit brand, as they seem to fit well. If u purchase at autozone, or advanced auto parts, they will install them for free.

Here is the procedure to remove the wiper motor. It says to remove wipers by removing the nut covers then remove the wiper nuts. Is this what your talking about?
If your talking about the wiper arms they just pop off at the swivel.
Use this link for info on removing blade assy.
