Rumble noise from wheels

My focus tddi has done 117,000 miles and there is a rumbling noise coming from the wheels, I suspect the bearings are worn. How do I change them as I don't have a manual.

I sugest getting some guidence to throw the bearing on if you over tighten it or not enough there goes your good hard work and double cheak with some one who knows what there doing to make sure its the bearing it could even be somthing in your brake rubbing or your tires humming couse u hit a curb or sumthing.

Its a front wheel drive so u have to take the tire off then the caliber, disc. then with an impact gun take axle nut off diconect the tie rod being held on by one nut then u need a hammer to hit it off set it aside. bottom ball joint is going to have to slip off and your lower control arm will just hang there by this time u and disconnect the axle from the hub fallowed by the two nutz n boolts on the shockn struts per order your self a new spindle. used cols like $80-180 depends on where

What might be experienced by transaxil/transmission bearings wear? Rumbling or vibrations?

Kia is bad with wheel bearings ;.About 80 to 100k they start going bad. You have to check them physically with a dial gauge or know how to inspect them in other manners. They cause a rumbling sound when they start to go bad.

Over 89000 miles. Noise has not lead to a wheel bearing. No change by turning right or left, even with sharp turning trying to get a change. Louder at 50 mph but always there. Never without rumbling a

It could be a universal joint.
Also it could be a warped brake rotor. Does the noise change when you lightly put on the brakes, you might try using the brake and gas at the same time for a short test.

2004 ford freestar rumbling noise as I drive down the road at about 45-60mph - it sounds and feels a bit like I hit a rumble strip but it is coming from the engine

Sounds like a half shaft. Reach around behind each wheel and see if there is play in the shaft that leads from the wheel to the transmission. There should be no play. Other possibility is a bearing hub. Jack up car, grab the tire at 9 and 3 o'clock. Shake wheel if there is movement not from the tie rod then it is the bearing hub.

1999 Lexus RX300 left rear wheel has a rumbling noise sounds like cv joint or bearing its all wheel drive.

Spin that wheel by hand as fast as you can. If you can hear the noise coming from right behind the tire it's probably a wheel bearing.

Rear humming noise on my ford focus suspect rear wheel bearings

If the humming is more pronounced when you turn corners it is one of the wheel bearings.Listen to determine which side. They can be done easily DIY but only with some mechanical knowledge. The old bearing casings need to be removed from the hub using a small chisel or drift. The new ones need to be pressed back into the hub ideally but can be done using a hammer and a suitale sized socket.
