Should be in the air intake on drivers side. Remove the hose running from air box (air filter box) look into where is connects to engine.

I have a 1991 dodge colt 1.5l won't start but floods. It has fire & is on time, can the mass air flow sensor be y ?

You have to have the MAF connected and working. It senses the air ratio before if it burned and fuel air is further modified by the Air/Fuel sensor in the exhaust before the catalytic converter.

The mass air flow (MAF) sensor, part of your vehicle's electronic fuel injection system, is responsible for calculating the total amount of air entering the engine. ... This causes the engine computer to miscalculate the amount of injected fuel, causing additional damage to your engine.May 1, 2020

That is a mass air flow sensor problem the mass airflow sensor is at the air intake just before the manifold. It measure the temp, pressure and volume of the air entering the engine.

Your vehicle is not equipped with a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, but it does have a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Here is a picture of where it is located.

My 2000 dodge durango 4.7 has started to use alot of fuel. It surges when driving on the road. Codes have said that bank 1 and 2 are burning to lean. Also at startup black smoke comes out the tail pipe....

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak or a mass air flow sensor that is dirty... i would be inclined to check the mass air flow sensor for being dirty as it seems to actually be running very rich.

Idles fine...when i press on the throttle it goes up in RPMs then dies.

Could be a throttle sensor, but I would first check your MAF(Mass Air FLow Sensor), you can take them out and clean them first, soak it in isopropl alchohal, do not touch the sensor itself with anything they are very sensative. They are located right after the intake usually.
