My wife took the car to exaust pro in Lexington, Ky. They did a scan and it was a speed sensor. They replaced it and it is fine. The car is great but after hearing all the complaints about the heater core we are going to sell it and get a Toyota Avalon. Also I replaced the antenna mast at 35k.

Abs light is on. fuses good, brake pads good, fluid level good. comes on after starting engine and stays on.

It is on because there is a problem with the Anti-Lock Brake System. Your normal non-abs brakes will work fine and you cannot tell anything is wrong until you need the ABS to work and it may or may not. There can be many things causing this. It may be as simple as dirt has collected on one of the sensors. Removing the sensor and cleaning may solve the problem. You can then remove the battery cable and reset the light. That may or may not work, You may need to reset the light with a scan tool. Inspect the wiring harness to each sensor and make sure it is securely connected. Turn the wheel to full lock left and right and make sure the wire is not being pulled tight thus stressing the connection. Another problem can be a broken tooth on the reduction ring that will set a code. You really need to have this scanned with a brake scan tool to get an idea of which wheel has the problem if you find nothing from a visual inspection.

Anti lock brake light won't go off

Check all the wiring to each wheel for a sensor is attached to the back side of each one. Road debries can shear a wire in two and cause the ABS light to stay on and have good brakes at the same time

I have a 1994 Roadmaster. Brakes were fine yesterday. This morning brakes need pushed to the floor to stop and they make a LOUD grinding sound. How much for brakes or is it the brakes?

Don't drive the car, it's too dangerous! 1st check the fluid level. For the brakes to go to the floor, you must have a fluid leak somewhere. Any drips or puddles under the car? The grinding sound most likely indicates the brake pads are down to metal, and would explain the noise you hear. So, yes, it is the brakes, but as far as how much, a visual inspection is needed, as well as checking rotors for thickness to determine if they can be cut and used again, or if new ones are needed. Calipers need to be checked to make sure they are operating properly. If one is hanging up (not fully releasing), it could result in advanced wear to just one wheel. Always change brakes in sets, that is both front, both rear, or all 4 at once. Bleed the system well enough to flush out all lines, as old brake fluid can damage brake calipers and cylinders causing premature failure. The visual inspection will determine if you need calipers, pads, rotors, and how many wheels need new brakes. Good luck.

I have a 96 a4 tdi an there seems to a shudder coming through brake pedal when i brake .pads ,calipers and discs are fine.

A shudder coming through the brake pedal is the sign of a warped rotor. You say the rotors, pads, and calipers are fine. Did someone inspect them or do they just "look" fine? A visual inspection usually will not show if a rotor is warped. You'll need to have them turned or replaced to be correct the problem.

ABS light on after replacing the front and rear brake pads .

u will need to check the wheel speed sensors behind the brake rotors to see if they got damaged or disconnected during the brake job, as long as the ABS light is on the Anti-lock brake system is disabled, regular braking without the need of ABS will feel fine.

Anti lock brake light on

It is most likely a bad front wheel speed sensor.Your sure abs rings were on back of rotors? It is going to be next to impossible to fix without getting the code with a scanner
