How to put on a serptine belt 2000 windstar 3.8

Windstars can be difficult because they are so cramped in front. You can rent a serpentine belt tool from a parts store such as autozone. Find the tensioner and use the tool to move the tensioner back which loosens the belt and then it can be removed. There should be a sticker under the hood that shows the belt routing, if not make a picture before you take the belt off.

HOW DO I REPLACE THE SERPENTINE BELT ON MY 2.8 V6?

joecoolvette must not ever been near an A4 Audi. Although his outline of the serpentine belt change is correct, you can't get to on an A4. Check out AudiWorld Tech Articles, Chris Hansen has a nice post there on Serpentine Belt Tensioner Replacement that would address most of this question.

03 vw bettle serptine belt

Replacing the serpentine belt on a New beetle is not easy as it was on the old one.

First you need to remove the Water tank, and undo the hoses near to the water tank.
Then you remove the three bolts securing the tensioner with a 13mm socket wrench, and release the tensioner.
Then you replace the belt.

The procedure is explained here on pages 2 to 5
, do not go over page 5, the rest of the procedure is on replacing the timing belt, and you risk to damage your car by touching the timing belt.

Once you replace serpentine belt, ensure that the pumps is running, that the belt is well in tension, and that is solidly there, not slipping out.

All the repairs must be done or supervised personally by a qulified mechanic.

Regards.
