Question about 2000 Audi A4

Just after a week of purchase the Reverse Gear and Top Gear stopped working. So, I took it to the dealer, and he had come up with a $900 bill for replacement of Multifuntional Switch. I was not very sad, because it was just an electrical glitch, and did not hurt the Tranny. I also told the dealer to do regular maintence on the car since it was due at 99k miles. The total expense inclusive of alll the jobs was $1,614. I took this risk to avoid any future trouble, and expected this car will ride for atleast 6 moths trouble-free. The dealer took a week here to fix it. Just a week after the episode, the car stopped on a signal, and refused to start. This time, I had to tow the car to the dealer, and he promised to have a free check, since he had recently worked on it. Two days later he comes up with a quote of $5,700, reason: a broken Timing Belt. I do not understand how he calculated that cost.

Hey man, what ever happene? My timing belt just went. I believe its a about a 150dollar job here in maine....

I parked my 96 sabb 900 turbo put it in reverse took the key out went to put the key in but the key wont turn and its stuck in reverse ??

some cars have a little button near the shifter if yours has one hold it down while trying to change the gear amd try turning the key on as well

I would change the transmission filter and fluid first. It could be that your filter is old and stopping the transmission from working properly.

If a transmission fluid and filter change does not solve the problem, then it's time for a transmission rebuild or replacement. This can often happen if the car was driven improperly, such as sudden stops and starts, jamming the clutch into gear (in manuals), down shifting while the car is in another gear or from old age.

Bad syncro for third gear. Sorry, but you aren't fixing this one yourself, unless you replace the transmission yourself.

95 saab 900 2.3 Ltr 5spd trans stuck in reverse.

have you checked the shift coupler, you can see it if you look down at rear of engine on trans side. Mabey get someone to mave shifter around while you examin its operation

1998 Chrysler Voyager Transmission problem

FYI, My 99' just had a rebuild put in it $2000. Lent it to family, and even before they left I was worried that mileage etc, was just about time for it to go. I had no warning signs, just something in the back of my mind said "anytime now". They made it to their destination 3 or 4 hours away, no problem all the way,then next morning running into town for groceries, spit, sputter clank, bang, done ! Piece came right out through the top of the transmission casing , big hole & a gear laying on top of the casing. Needless to say, they felt bad, but I just had a premonition it was time. That's why when those things act up, don't play around, get it diagnosed a.s.a.p. Trying to get through the week, can cost you big time. Here's to hoping yours is an easy, inexpensive fix.

When i attempt to lower top of 1997 900 se saab its check tcp

you may need to get the motors ckecked ot for the top, if they are week and/or old they may stop right int eh middle of lowering or raising the top, expesive to fix and you have to do both motrs at the same time...
