The power windows will not go down when you press the button. It sounds like they are trying to but will not.

You want to quick fix ? Get some WD - 40 and spray down inside the door panel. That worked for me one time. But is will only last a day or two.

Good Luck

2001 oldsmobile aurora rear door driver side window glass falls down and does not work with the electric switch

If you can hear the motor running while pressing the window switch you may have a broken clip or something in the way causing the window to slip off track. If no sound comes while pressing the window button you may need a power window regulator motor "OR" the window button itself may need replacing. If the window was down when it stopped working and had to be manually rolled back up, this can cause the glass to randomly fall back inside the door. This is because the car thinks that the window is still down and will continue to fall until it tells the computer that the window was closed using the power window button. If the window falls at just the wrong angle you could end up having to replace the glass as well.

Have a 97 chevy venture. The driver side window rolls down but won't roll back up.

I guess you mean goes down when you press the electric button down and theres no sound orpower to go back up if you pust the button for down again it'll try to go down, but not up. If this is the case the window switch has failed, as long it's the window in the drivers door.

I have a ford windstar 2003, the power windows some times work. When a try open the driver's window there is a rely sound baut nothing happen. If i try to open the passanger or rear windows only...

I'd take the inner door panel off, and disconnect the two heavy wires that feed the window motor. Put a digital multi-meter positive lead on one wire, and the negative on the other wire, and press the button to put the window down (you'll have to have the main switch control plugged in to test this). You should see your meter read +12v or so when you push the button one way, and -12V when you push the button the other way. If you are getting power (consistently) then your motor may be bad, or the window regulator needs greased.

My drivers side window will not go up or down. Stuck in the down right now. Replaced switch already but still not putting power between the two sides. If you have a schematic for the window system that...

Before taking door apart, try this fast procedure, if just one window stuck:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.

7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

Power window won't go down

It's probably the control switch, which can be replaced. It's usually a go to the dealer item.

Try giving the door a hit while pressing the up switch. If it doesn't work, then you will have to check if the motor is working or not,,,involves removing the upholstery.
Let us know how you get on.
