Re: Need to fit coil springs to Landcruiser 79 series ute...
You need a coil spring compresser, and the proper skill level to use it.
If you try to change the coils without a compresser, you CAN & WILL GET HURT. Coil springs are not something to fool about with if you do not have the proper tools. These things are danagerous.

Hi all, this is my first post so my apoligies if its out of order, can anyone give any tips on converting the front drum brakes on my Mazda 1000 ute 74 model to disc brakes, any assistance greatly apreciated, tks. jon.
start with a compression test to determine if there is a weak cylinder or imbalance . the stalling could be fuel related... check pressure and change the fuel filter. more info is needed...... lots of vacuum lines and emissions controls, are the all there? is there a vacuum leak somewhere like the intake, pcv, throttle body or plastic tee?
Check that the intercooler is in good condition (no cracks or leaks) and the hoses are tight at the hose clamps . Next talk to a diesel pump repair specialist as you may have to re-tip the injectors and re-calibrate the pump for the extra air that the turbo produces. Check that you have the correct turbo for the diesel
You should replace the temp guage sender unit. First disconnect wire from sender and with a test light connect one end to wire and one to earth turn ignition on and gauge should start at base and slowly work its way up. Faulty sender. If gauge still on full when disconnected from sender then gauge is either stuck and need replacing
its usually a tire balance issue at that speed. also check the front tires for seperation...it ussually appears as a belt break internally in the tire and can be found out by rotating the tire while you have it jacked up off the ground and watch it while its turning by hand
First off, steering wobble usually starts threw front hubs so ya best is first jack the front up so wheels are off the ground, hold the tyre top and bottoms an try to push it in and out, if there is play there than you may need to Simply replace wheel bearings etc or in my case just repack and set em an Make sure you do the inner bit 28mm nuts up firm,
Second option is get a high quality steering damper which also helps heaps when 4x4 ing,
Third option could very well be play on the tirod ends an this can be checked by havin te wheels off te ground as steering lock off and just gentler trying to twist the wheel side to side an if there is play than u will know that the slak is coming threw the rod ends before friction hits the steerin arms hence causing vibrations
