Question about 2001 Kia Rio
I have had the same problem. When further inspection was done, we found out that the cam belt had
broken and caused major problems with internals of the motor.
Apparently, these engines are famous for this. Although this may not be your problem, I would bet a
new engine shall be in your future. The engine is very hard to find as I have not found one yet.
If you are able to find an engine, make sure that you replace cam belt first.
