Check to see if your fuel pump is kicking on. You should hear a buzzing sound for a second or two when you first turn the key. If you don't hear it, check your fuel pump fuse/relay or fuel reset if equipped. It could be a clogged fuel filter. You need to make sure gas is getting fuel to the engine. If it is, then you need to check for spark. It may be because of spark plugs/coils, wires, distributor, dist.cap, rotor, cam sensor, crank sensor, ecm. When you car doesn't start but cranks, there is many things that can cause that. You need to do a spark test and make sure that your getting good spark. It could be the timing belt. You need fuel and spark to start the car.

SOURCE: Engine cranks but does not start, it finally

You may have burned up the starter. You should only crankup to 10 seconds. Then let it cool off for 15 seconds.

SOURCE: 93 7.3 ford started right up after putting on new

Hi again. My first guess here would be fuel pump. First check your oil level to see if the diaphram is busted and letting fuel into the crankcase. That's a dead giveaway of a bad pump.
Even if you don't find fuel in the oil, I would still crack loose a fitting on the high pressure side of the pump either at the pump or the injector pump and crank the engine to see if there is fuel pressure. If you have fuel pressure, then I'm probably not the right guy to help, as I have limited diesel experience. Other guys can chime in on this request--you don't have to enter another one to get their help.

Thanks again for using FixYa, Jeff

2002 Acura RSX type S wont start

If you heard a click when you cranked it, that's usually a dead battery. But, you need to check the oil level. I've had 2 RSX's that jumped time because the oil level dropped too low.

The tensioner on the timing chain is hydraulically controlled, if the oil level drops the tensioner looses tension and the chain jumps time. Its an extensive and expensive repair.
