My 1996 850 GLT have been disconnect AC clutch after 5-10 minut work, or after car accelerated - clutch won't engages back. What i did - in volvobrick forum i found advise. There is 3 shims under clutch byself. U need check gap in the clutch. not sure about exact dimention. Then - need take off clutch, remove one or two shims, put clutch back. It is short explanation what i did. I did't remove AC compressor from car, yes, there is not too much place around. But i did, it is possible. If you DIY - not hard. Still work without any problem.

Ac works but when compressor cycles, it wont come back on until i rev engine to 4500 to 5000 rpm's and compressor kicks back on until it cycles again. i have to repeat reving engine every time com

you need to check the pressure of the system if the system is a little low on freon it will cycle more also if the cooling fan is not working the pressure will raise and also shut off

Ac compressor wont turn on how do u cycle it manually to come on cause freon is empty

thats the reason why it wont come on because there is not enough pressure in the system for the compressor to cut in, recharge the system with freon and thats when the compressor will cycle

My compressor wont kick on 2007 Grand Prix

You could remove the relay for the compressor, then with a jumper wire, put one end on a positive voltage source and the other in one of the relay terminals.

2000 saab 95 air con - relay not receiving message to start compressor.

a/c systems have what is called a low pressure switch, If there isnt enough pressure(freon) in it the compressor wont kick on. I would read the pressures and go from there. 99% of the time when a compressor wont turn on i find that it is low on freon.

A/c wont come on

have the system charge checked, the system waring is activated by this condition in most cases, u can confirm that by putting a jumper wire across the low pressure AC compressor cycling switch located in the low pressure line from the compressor near the accumulator.
