Question about 1996 Volvo 850
I AMA MASTER VOLVO ASE TECH AND RUN A JUMPER WIRE FROM A/C COMPRESSOR WITH A/C ON MAX TO POS BATTERY AND SEE IF COMPRESSOR CLICKS ON AND IF A/C RELAY GETS HOT IT IS POSSIBLE A BAD COMPRESSOR OR DOES THE FAN COME ON WITH A/C ENGAGED THE FAN IS A TWO STAGE UNIT ON 850,S ONE IS THE ENGINE TEMP RED AND THE GREEN IS FORTH A/C SYSTEM

My 1996 850 GLT have been disconnect AC clutch after 5-10 minut work, or after car accelerated - clutch won't engages back.What i did - in volvobrick forum i found advise.There is 3 shims under clutch byself. U need check gap in the clutch. not sure about exact dimention.Then - need take off clutch, remove one or two shims, put clutch back. It is short explanation what i did. I did't remove AC compressor from car, yes, there is not too much place around.But i did, it is possible. If you DIY - not hard. Still work without any problem.

Replace cut out switch and/or.
Replace a/c clutch and if that doesn't work replace the whole thing sorry. Its bust.
