How to Replace the O2 Sensor in Mercury villager?

O2 sensor needs to be replaced when you get low gas mileage in car.
The procedure to replace is as follows: ----
1) There is primary and secondary O2 sensor connector.
2) Do the replacement of the O2 sensor only when the engine is completely cool.
3)You will see primary O2 sensor on the exhaust manifold. The secondary O2 sensor is located after the catalytic converter.
4)Put the car on jack stands on the rack, this will give you proper sensor location in the car.
5)Remove the O2 sensor with a socket wrench and O2 removal tool extension. Turn the O2 sensor counterclockwise to remove.
6) Most of the times the O2 sensor comes out very easily but if its bit hard to remove it then you can use "FREEZE spray" to make it gets loose.
7)The spray will make it come out easily.
8)When the O2 sensor is getting removed, some of the wiring's will also come out.
9)Before removing the O2 sensor, take the note of the wiring's and the position of wiring so while inserting new O2 sensor you don't get confused.
10) Now after you remove the old faulty O2 sensor out. Carefully insert new O2 sensor in same position.
11) And reverse/refit all the wires / parts which you removed while replacing the old O2 sensor.
This will help. Thanks.

Trying to remove an o2 sensor that befor the cat off 200 caddy escalade

To remove the O2 sensor you will need an O2 sensor socket that you can buy at most auto part stores, or you can dis-connect the wire connector for that O2 sensor, and then slip the wire connector from the O2 sensor through a 7/8 inch box end wrench and then slide the wrench up to the O2 sensor and then remove the O2 sensor. Use plenty of W-D40 to soak the base of the O2 sensor before removing it, and if the wire connector does not fit through the box end of the wrench then cut the wire connector off from the O2 sensor, and you will only need the open end of the wrench to install the O2 sensor, and only tighten the O2 sensor up until you feel the the sealing rings crush down, and do not over-tighten the O2 sensor because they are not supposed to be torqued down.

Universal o2 censor has 2 white 1gray 1black existing wires areblack/tan dkgreen/orng blk/ltbl blk/pink

First what do you mean by a universal o2 sensor? You must make sure that you have the right o2 sensor, most newer vehicles have four o2 sensors 2 upstream and 2 downstream, upstream and downstream are meant to show where the sensors are in relation to the catalatic converter, some o2 sensors have 1 wire or up to 4 wires most with four wires are heated o2 sensors so you need to be sure you ve gotten the right o2 sensor for you vehicle as well as the right replacement for the proper location! My experience is that most after market o2 sensors have the same colored wires as the vehicle. Also most o2 sensors have electrical plugs? If you need help finding the right o2 sensor for your vehicle then please dont be affraid to ask!
