    Test control module N47-5

  • Anonymous Mar 23, 2014

I have a 2002 Elantra Manual 5sp and the Cruise has stopped working. I have checked the fuse which reads 0 Ohms and is good, I tested both cluutch switches as well as the brake switch (both circuits) and these are operating as they should. I checked for power at the cruise control module and it is receiving power when ignition is on. I am able to detect the brake switch normally on circuit at the cruise control module. I don't believe this module uses the neutral switch on the shifter itself. What would be really helpful is to know how the on/off signal from teh steering wheel gets to the module so I can test that circuit? Pinout of the connector going into the cruise control module would also be helpful.

2008 Expedition 5.4l codes: P0607, P2004, P2107, U1900, B1676.

P0607 - Control Module Performance Description: Indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) internal central processing unit (CPU) has encountered an error. The PCM monitors itself and carries out internal checks of its own CPU. If any of these checks returns an incorrect value, the DTC is set. Possible Causes:
  • Module programming error
  • Aftermarket performance products
  • Damaged PCM
Diagnostic Aids: Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory All Reprogram or update the calibration. Check for other DTCs or drive symptoms for further action. Make sure to check for aftermarket performance products before installing a new PCM. If it is necessary to install a new PCM, refer to Section 2, Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) .
P2004 - Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Stuck Open (Bank 1) Description: This DTC is set when the IMRC is commanded closed, but the IMRC monitor indicates open. This DTC replaces P1518 and P1537. Possible Causes:
  • IMRC monitor signal circuit shorted to PWR GND or SIG RTN
  • Damaged IMRC actuator or solenoid
  • Blocked vacuum hoses
Diagnostic Aids: Monitor the IMRC and IMRCM PIDs. The IMRCM state should change when the IMRC is commanded open or closed. Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory All GO to Pinpoint Test HU .
P2107 - Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Processor Description: The electronic throttle control (ETC) area of the powertrain control module (PCM) failed the self-test. The concern could be the result of an incorrect throttle position (TP) command, or TAC motor wires shorted together. Possible Causes:
  • TAC motor wire shorted together
  • TAC motor circuit wires short to PWR
  • Damaged electronic throttle body (ETB)
  • Damaged PCM
Diagnostic Aids: A TAC motor circuit PID reading may indicate a concern, if available. Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory All GO to Pinpoint Test DV .

After replacing a fuel pump on 2006 jeep liberty 3.7 code U1411 is showing. How serious is that?

Here is what the troubleshooting guide says:
WHEN MONITORED
Ignition on.

SET CONDITION
The fuel volume message the PCM is receiving is implausible. The circuit is continuously monitored.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • CAN B open or shorted
  • Cluster module
  • Front control module
  • PCM
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding.

Theory of Operation
The Front ControlModule isn't receiving a fuel volume signal over CAN B from the ClusterModule. The FCM has to send the PCM a fuel volume signal over CAN C. The signal the FCM sends over CAN C is implausible.

DIAGNOSTIC TEST

1. ACTIVE DTC Ignition on, engine not running.
With a scan tool read DTCs.

Q: Is the DTC active at this time?

YES: Go To 2
NO: Refer to the INTERMITTENT CONDITION Diagnostic Procedure. Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST.

2. CAN B BUS HARDWARE DTCS ALSO ACTIVE
With a scan tool check for DTCs in the FCM. Q: Are any CAN B Hardware related DTCs active at this time?

YES: (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROLMODULES - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING) for the appropriate diagnostic procedures. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
NO: Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module per Service Information. Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST.

Sorry, but it looks like it could be a computer problem.

wow , no engine options stated, or type of driveline.... wow.
this is covered in the FSM, read that.
it states
U1411-Implausible Fuel Volume Signal Received that means to get the car fully scanned,
using a real scan tool that sees all 2006, jeep DTC errors.
including BCM codes.
the manual tells you what to do.

here is just small expert from the Factory.serv.manual

quote

Code: U0140-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BODY CONTROL MODULE What does this mean?

U0140 Lost Communication With Body Control Module

This generic "U" trouble code applies to all car makers and indicates a problem between the PCM and the body control module. This is likely the result of a problem in the data link between the two modules.

Is the U0140-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BODY CONTROL MODULE also set?
YES: Follow the diagnostics for U0140-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BODY CONTROL MODULE
Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. See: Verification Tests\Powertrain Verification Test
NO: Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module.
Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. See: Verification Tests\Powertrain Verification Test

Good luck.
