1985 Chevy 1/2 ton truck

1985 Chevy 1/2 ton truck - Trying to replace leaking slave cylinder with new one and I am having a problem starting threaded connection of formed line at firewall. Any tricks? Can I remove the two bolts holding connection on firewall to get more clearance without causing more problems? Any diagrams available on web of the connection? I have a Chilton manual but it does not cover the slave cylinder. Thank you - Marilyn
