Did you replace the schrader valves (the thing in the inside of the A/C service fittings, you need a special tool to remove and install them) before you recharged the system? They are notorious for leaking if they are old.

If you did not, replace those and try again, if it leaks out again with no evidence you most likely have a bad evap core.

And yes, it's a pain in the ****, plan on it taking a 30 pack of bud light and a weekend to do, or one day and a 12 pack if you are good. Just start taking the dash apart, and may the force be with you. It will be behind the glove box

97 Plymouth Breeze won't blow cold air due to freon leak.

Your AC system is a closed system, so the fact you have to put more Freon in, means there is definitely a leak. I would check it out with a mechanic.

Why wont' my a/c system blow cold air after adding freon?

Hmmmmmm, There is a lot more to AC systems sometimes.

Is the clutch on the AC compressor turning when you have the AC on? How much pressure is currently in the system? Does it have AC in the back of the vehicle?

1989 buick skylark ac blows warm with new freon

My guess would be, based on the age of the car, that the compressor is out of oil; meaning it doesn't work. It's not a simple matter of adding oil like to an engine.

2002 trailblazer xlt....the freon is leaking where the lines meet the firewall. Also, the front air blows very good and very cold...but the rear air doesn't work no matter on which setting it is on....

If there is a leak at the firewall and it is the fittings, they have O-rings that seal them and can be replaced. If the leak is from behind that it will need a new Evaporator core. If the vehicle has Rear A/C I have seen the real thermal expansion vale stuck and it will not let the rear get cold. Also low Freon due to leaks will effect the rear first then the front. SO LOW FREON DUE TO THE LEAK AT THE FRONT COULD ALSO MESS UP THE REAR. FIND A GOOD PRICED a/c REPAIR SHOP.

What's your problem?I have a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban. The AC is blowing out hot air. I have had the truck for 6 years, every Summer its the same thing. The ac does not get cold, I take it to the m

To clarify - - if the truck has rear and heat, you have two heater cores and two evaporator cores. The evap cores carry the freon.
If the leak is in the evap core in the front, the price is probably right.

Can't find AC Leak

their has to be a leak you will need yellow uv glasses and a blacklight to find it.. if the evaporator core is leaking it won't be visible since it is located inside the heater case behind the dash. make sure to look at all ac components, compressor, lines, fittings, reciever dryer, and condenser a cheap book for your car will show you the locations of these components in case your not familiar with the system

You probably have leaked out your freon after so much time. Try adding some more Freon if it doesnt stay charged you may have bigger issues.

Ac repair

Your Trail Blazer does not have a rear compressor. It will have a rear expansion valve and a rear evaporator core. Changing the line will depend on exactly where it is leaking. The lines run all the way from the front to the rear so it can be a chore. Do you know which line it is and about where it is leaking? There are a high and low side line, and they will have connections in places. With more info on the location I can look it up on the GM service site and give you more info. Good Luck
