Front drivers side window

The window stoped working. it won't go down.

    exact same problem just happened to me 2 days ago, from what i have seen a test should be done to determine if there is power to the switch, if you/me are lucky it's only the switch...i'm trying to figure out how to take the door apart to get to the switches

This is a 2002 cadillac dts, the window will come down but will not go up. I think what is broke is what is called a resernator or a part that actually attach to the window and allow the window to come up

I had the same problem. A new window motor was need; I can't remember exactly but it wasn't too much...just don't go to a Ford dealer!

How about when the radio is on & the key is off or
in your hand,if you open either front door does the radio go off
& do you lose the delayed window feature assuming you have that
If so you problem is a delayed accy relay
Next would be the front door switches
I will give you credit for what you tried
but fail to see why you would switch motor
from door to door,they work powered directly or they don't
I would think your battery would have gone dead by now
if the relay failed to time out or go to sleep

Most likely you have to replace the switch assembly on the driver side it probably got wet over the years from rain and snow and cause it to short out. Do not get a used part from a scrap yard because your end up with the same problems.

Not really i think your right, it sounds like both motors went bad a quick little test i always do is hold switch down and bang on the inside of the door at lower front of door and sometimes it shakes motor and it starts working then i know for sure its a motor, this save cuatomers money , they dont pay to remove panel and testing,try it . hope this helps.

Try the fuse. The switch may be faulty so check by removing the inner door panel and connecting a 12v battery via two wires to the motor that winds the window up and down. If it goes up and down it's probably the switch which may just need a clean on the terminals.
