Daughter has a 2000 Altima that has a power steering problem. It will not top leaking. Have had it in the shop several times, and they claim you ahve to almost drop the engine to replace. Could this be correct? Also, have put in Power Steering stop leak several times, and that helped for awhile, but now it just run right through.

Usually that's power steering fluid - check the lines coming out of the reservoir for leaks. If there are none, check the steering rack itself - you may have a leak there.

Oil fluid leak on left side of car-2000 buick lasabre

If its on the drivers side of the car close to the front check the transmission oil cooler lines. Especially if the fluid is redish in color. You will see them if you look up under the vehicle on the drivers side. There will be to black hoses running between the transmission and the radiator. If they are wet/dripping you found the leak.

Redish fluid (power steering or break fluid. it

Automatic transmissions use red fluid & it is routed through a line to the radiator for additional cooling. You would want to check that set of hoses & connections between the trans & radiator first. Secondly, the PS pump also uses trans. fluid & you'll need to trace those hoses & check for leaks.

good luck

ITS ANTI FREEZE THAT YOUR LEAKING. IT COULD MORE THAN LIKELY BE INTAKE GASKET, BUT THERE IS A FITTING THAT LEAKED ALL THE TIME TOO. IF ITS THE INTAKE GASKET MAKE SURE TO REPLACE THAT FITTING TOO.

Water is conensation from the air conditioning system. redish oil is most probably a antifreeze leak, does it look like a redish water? If so then its antifreeze toyota uses a pink/red long life anifreeze. most likley from a water pump which is right in that area
