2001 325i Power Window can't move back up

Early this afternoon, I opened the window halfway while waiting in the car. When I started my car, the window wouldn't go up. After pressing the switch a few times, the window went down all the way and would not go back up. I can hear a faint noise that the motor for the window seems to be running. Is it a fuse problem? Could it be the switch or regulator that broke? How can I tell? Shall I replace all window fuses first and see what happens? IF so, where are they?

I'd greatly appreciate your help!!

It could be a lot of things, It might have gotten off track and now is jammed or something. I would suggest taking it to the bmw dealership so no damage is done to the window itself.
Good luck and keep me posted.

1994 3 litre Camry automatic. Drivers window moving but not opening.

Bets, if the window motor is working then the problem is most likely your window regulator. One can generally find this part at most local salvage yards (Pick n Pull RULES) my daughter just had this problem it was a $17 and about an hour job - removing door panels was the worst part but doable in an afternoon good luck

On my 2001 kia sportage the back two windows won't go down and the right front window is stuck halfway up

make sure power windows lock out switch on driver side not on position, that will cause power windows not work or you have faulty power window relay.

Back window fell halfway down will not go back up. it will roll down, but only goes up halfway.

Sounds like it fell off the track.Remove door panel and speaker to get a good look inside door. There is a motor and a cable that moves the window up and down on the regulator. you could plug the switch in and watch it work . It could be the regulator and most are held in by rivets just drill them out and use nuts and bolts

I have a 1999 pontiac grand prix. I put the window down today and it stopped halfway. I tried putting it back up but it would not move. I could hear the motor running both up and down but the window...

The cables on the window regulator broke or derailed, either way you need to replace the regulator to fix it. The regulator is the part that moves the window up and down.

My power window opens a few inches and stops, wait 5 minutes it will open another couple inches, and so on, and so on until it is open all the way. It closes the same way which is great when it starts...

The most likely thing is that the wiring is a little poor and maybe the window regulator is partially siezed... you need to take the door panel off and oil the regulators moving parts, you can pull and push the window while pressing the buttoin to help it along. theres also the possiblity that the "runners" that the glass slides in have moved a little since the car was made, you can loosen the runers with a socket or spanner and make them so they are straight and flush witht the glass and the glass is a snug, but not tight fit.
should solve the problem.
if not you do need a new motor or whole regulator for that window.

Passenger side power window halfway down

You will need to remove your interior trim panel and check your window regulator for damage and for power going to your window motor. If your regulator is ok and you have power going to the motor then you have a bad window motor. If there is no power at the motor then you will need to check the circuit for the problem ie. blown fuses, broken wiring, bad switch. It is very commen for the motors to go bad. Good luck.

Rear right door power window is stuck halfway down.

There is a little plastic type of bracket that the glass for this window is mounted on to, its probably broken and the window fell off the track. Therefor the motoring working but can't roll the window up. You make nedd the complete window regulator assembly. Good Luck

2001 BMW 325i Power Window Won't Go Up

Have you tried spraying the window guides/channels with silicone, the motors are very small that operate the window, it just might be they are sticking from no lube, I have seen this many times in my 30 years as a tech. If this doesn't provide the cure swap the window switchs and see what happens that may be the issue. This is from a post on a BMW owner site:

When I put the switch from the front window in the console for the rear window, I got nothing. When I put it back in the front console socket, I was able to roll the window back up. So, now it looks like I have 1 switch with a faulty down and one with a faulty up. I took the switch out of the console for the rear left window and tried it on the front right window. The window goes up and down! However, I'm still getting nothing when I put it in the console for the rear right window as well, looks like one switch is defective on down, and the other on up, so I replaced both.
